using an HPS for Lowryders?

Hey guys, im up late and have been thinkin about this too much.

For my first real grow, id like to start off with a Lowryder strain (not sure what one yet)

My only light is a 150w HPS. They recommend 20/4 but they don't say anything about lights used.

So my question is, is it going to be alright if i use the 150wHPS from seed to chop? I ask this because its an autoflowring strain and im thinking the grow technique may be a little different?

Anyone grow these strains? I have searched and found some good threads, just seein if anyone new has or is growin these.

yeah you can, but when its a seeding you might want to keep it a little further away because you don't want to burn them.

Anyone know if they make 150w MH conversion bulbs?

to my knowledge no... but see with lowryder you dont want to use a mh... stick with the hps throughout the grow... lowryder (i'm sure you know) is an autoflowering strain... use your hps throughout the whole grow... if your asking in reference to future grows where you would use mh for a veg stage., to my knowledge I dont think they do make a mh conversion bulb 150 watt...

Nice of you to chime in Dusty. I was up till 4AM last night reading through your thread where you were making your cabinet. That thing is insane!!

Maybe I will go with one of those 300w CFLs that come with a reflector for future grows. Im glad the Autoflowers can take the HPS all the way through though! Thanks!

Also, like i mentioned before. They recommend 20/4 light schedule. I'm wondering of this is with the HPS through-out the grow or what. Would 12/12 work or is the 20/4 needed specifically for the autoflowers?

20/4 is essential to getting better yields at harvest.

Ok, then that works i guess. Now i need to find a timer that wont crap out on me..

Anyone ever do the "48 hours of darkness" before they chop? How did that workout for you? Some lowryder stains call for that, Maximizing resin. It couldn't hurt, right?
