Using living soil. What media to start seedlings

I am going to switch to using living soil. Using 60 litre rectangle beds, growing two in each one. My questions is what shoukd i start off the seedlings in? The beds are going to stay in the flower room so I need to veg them in 7.5 litre containers before I transplant them into the beds. Surely living soil is too hot for seedlings ? Shoukd i veg them in light soil? Or coco maybe? Anyone with any experience could point me in right direction thanks

Just add coco and some extra perlite to your base soil cut down a hot mix for seedlings.

I would use a 4 inch pot with coco mixed in like Drysift said, if your concerned. That way you can utilize the good soil in veg after 1st transplant ~2 weeks after sprout

What's in your soil mix? If there's nothing "hot" in there, feel free to plant your seed. I plant seeds in no-till (except this round).

It’s called eco thrive there’s supposed to be everything needed for a full cycle there’s tonnes of stuff in it. Is dry sift like dry nutrients mixed up?

I think you might be right, the soil I’m vegging in needs to be as similar to the living soil as possible as it’s going to take up 14 litres of a 60 litr bed

so maybe il sprout them in some light soil in tiny seedling pots then il juts transplant into the 7.5 litre pots I may do 12 litre Actually, of the Living soil. I want them to do all their vegging in these pots I want them To get fairly big. Then transplant into the 60 litre beds to flower a week after transplant

I checked their website, I think you'd be fine to plant straight to soil. I would email them to ask if its safe for seedlings, tomato seedlings, of course. The small pots with a lighter soil is always a safe bet, tho. How long are you vegging for?

Yea tomatoes loool well I wanna grow them pretty big during veg so quite a while like 2-3ft wide and 2-3ft tall so would need big enough pots f

Jiffy seed starting mix can be found at any lowes, home depot it’s pretty much a blank slate.won’t burn.Add some perlite

In the dirt....? It's a seed, don't over think it.

I pop in paper towels, as soon as I see a root...straight to a pot full of soil.
