Hey guys ive been slowly chopping over the last couple weeks and I'm wondering about using the trim and larf to make butter. I've just been freezing all my trimmings and now I have at least a couple oz of larf and trim so I wanted to make a batch of cannabutter. If you guys could give me tips or instructions on best methods or just have any pro tips drop em! And do I need to dry out the larf before cooking or can I just use the trim and larf right off the plant as they are. Thanks guys

Oil is better than butter, I pack the crock pot with trim and small buds and fill it up with olive oil. Then I top it off with water so the crock pot is filled up fully.

Turn it on low and bring it up to a boil ( around 5 or 6 hours) .. Then I unplug it and let it cool overnight and bring it up to a boil again the next day.

Let it cool and strain it out with cheese cloth and a metal strainer.. Toss it in freezer.. The water freezes on the bottom and infused oil is in top.

Temp.
It goes over the 105 degree threshold.
I assume you're being a sterling human being here & using *C?

So you can actually dial-in a specific temperature on these units & not just rely on the pressure alone to reach 120*C?

I think the unit is calibrated to vent at about 109 degrees, yes Celsius.

* on pressure cook - high

I agree on oil better than butter, but I prefer coconut oil myself. It definitely solidifies better than olive oil, and can be used in the same ways butter can for cookies or whatever.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Electric pressure cookers only reach 12-12.5 psi (0.86 bar), whereas stovetop ones can reach 15psi (1 bar) & 121*C (which I was led to believe is the ideal decarb. temperature).

Anything over 105 is good. Back when I had the equipment, 10 minutes/110 C oil bath temp ... did the job.

at ordinary pressure
