Using root!t sponges

These i think are the same as those root riot cubes.................My question is fellow growers, How long can i keep my plants, from seed, inside the humitdy dome in those sponges/cubes before i have to plant them into pots with soil?? Or do people just place the cube/sponge with the seed inside of it straight into soil and not use the whole humidty dome stage with these sponges/cubes?

I would grow them in the cubes with a humidity dome until i notice a sprout and then once they grow the taproot at the bottom i would plant the whole thing in the soil, or just put the seed in the soil if you dont have alot of seeds. usually i would only use small cubes if i had alot of seeds and wanted to pick the plants that rooted fastest and had the best traits. It all depends on one's situation. I say use them and see if they actually are better for growing seedlings compared to strait dirt.

I am growing ten plants but i am keeping them all, they consist of different seeds, some medical, some personal. I though these cubes might give my plants a better chance at growing/survings as i haven't had much luck sprouting seeds after i have germinated them.

just make sure the taproot is strong when they are germinated, and point the taproot strait down when planting...there should be at least a 90% success rate. Just make sure you use nice robust dark and healthy seeds. I find i can germinate a very good strong seed in 1-2 nights in a plain cup of ph 7.0 water then plant the very robust seed in my small cup and have it growing in 3 to 5 days depending on how deep i plant my seed and how tight i pack the soil around it. all these factors come into play when planting our babies.
