Using shallow pots to control plant height?

I'm thinking of growing on shelves under T5 lighting.

Do you think I could keep flowered plants short, like under a foot?

Lets say 3" high pots, 6"x6" wide. I figure under a 2'x4' shelf I could fit 4 plants deep and 8 across. Do you think (A) I could keep each flowered plant under a foot tall and (B) could i yield 7 grams dry buds per plant?

Yup but I would just LST them as they get bigger. Think horizontal not vertical, so when they get to max height bend them over and just keep them like that.

Exactly what I thought. I think It'd be cool to keep small plants growing on trellis or little arbors as you would with a climbing plant. If it was small it would hopefully not get too spindly and put all it's energy into buds and not stem, right?

Sorry, I'm running a fever and my imagination is running away with me X3

Yeah my imagination is running nuts too lol. I'm dreaming of building an awesome cabinet, 3 shelves inside, each about 2' high, 2' deep and 4' long, lit up with T5 bulbs. I could fit about 100 micro plants under all those shelves and aim for anywhere between 3g-10g per plant. Something about T5 really intrigues me, I love the idea low profile design and making maximum use of vertical space. I dont like the idea of hanging a HID 2' above plants and growing 3' plants and wasting all this vertical, I'd rather build a custom cabinet and use T5 ;)

Has anyone ever seen a grow done like that? I'd love to take a look at one. I saw one nice T5 sea of green but my impression was they grew the plants too tall and didnt stack shelves to take full advantage of what T5 has to offer. Still was a very nice grow though, I'd just like to see more!
