All I have to say is that after reading through 2 pages of garbage yall can lick a nut, the link doesn't even work brickhead.

FFS why don't the god damn moderators just delete all this trash instead of letting people flame on.

I don't think of light movers as really gaining coverage. More that they improve everything within the coverage. They do expand a little but the improvement is where the real gain is imo.

I've played with light movers a lot, and there are circumstances where they make real gains. Those circumstances tend to be pretty specific and have to be designed for to get their advantages. This far, I haven't been able to make those- let's call them what they are; 'exceptions to the general rule'- actually work to improve yield per square foot or quality. I HAVE been able to use them effectively to gain yield per watt.

The point I was trying to reinforce was that even under these exceptional circumstances, LED is ineffective due to the lenses used.

The link worked yesterday...and I have the link saved from when we first found it weeks ago and it is down too. So that is no bricks fault.
Nor do I see how this is actually a bad thread. Everyone has been fairly nice about things and just expressing opinions and facts. Exactly what this forum is for. Are we supposed to just go along with what ever the first post is??? That doesn't seem very educational to anyone.
When you hide the best, it's hard to give it credit.

I get what your saying...but unfortunately your generalizing all led's. Some un with no less and should do better. Some have wide 100* lens some have <60*. Same problem happens with OG hoods. Not just leds...just the concept of less wasted spread will fall in to your exception.

I read the study

First, mj has little in common with the plants they used.

Since mj is a 'fruiting' plant, it's light requirements are quite a bit more spectrum inclusive than just RB- in fact a full PAR spectrum will grow superior plants to horticulture lights that concentrates on peak PAR spectrums

Next, the AT is an old model

In fairness, it is hard to keep up with how fast led horticulture light is advancing when doing a long term study (especially for mj- Apache Tech/A-51; BML is too when the mj grower knows the importance of full spectrum lighting

Even BML has newer OSRAM diodes than their Design Your Light shows (though it may be updated now)

BML has shipped 2 X 3ft rails that I selected; a mix of 2700/3000K + 3 @ 660 + 2 @ 450

The only way they'd work is without a lens at all. If they have those, then maybe.
