I hadn't looked at the clones for while, so I popped open the dome and yes! Awesome rootage:

Some are still re-vegging:
DSC03087.jpg

The SBC roots very fast, I feel like the indicas I have take a while...

I also noticed that there's a slight K def on the BBS, and then it hit me... I forgot to amend the soil! I usually amend it as a base I can fall back on, I remembered because I use kelp meal (2-0-5) as my main K source (this answers a lot of the questions)... I guess that's what happens when you get really stoned and garden..

Hey man! I read the entire thread and it is really cool! You are doing some good work. I had a few questions for you as I too am using the BioCanna line and have had a few problems I have had to work through. How heavy is the fertilization in your soil? I had a rough start with mine due to medium incompatability. For those of you reading do not use Canna Coco with the BioCanna line. The two are not really compatible, lol. So after I talked with Canna about my problems, I ended up retransplanting to Happy Frog Soil and basically starting over and renurturing my yellowed, wilted plants back to health. I restarted my veg time and am about to flower them.

There are a couple problems that I have been working through. The first is that my Happy Frog fertilized soil has about as much water retention as a dinner plate. I have my plants in 3 gallon buckets and when I water, the water quickly runs out to the pan in the bottom, and doesn't retain well in the soil. I have amended this on my newest batch by mixing a 1:1 ration of Happy Frog with Pro Mix Professional. I like the water absorbtion much better, but now I will have to retweak my nutrient solution for the new batch, which leads me to problem number two. When I retransplanted my plants into the Happy Frog, for a week I gave it water with Cannazyme and Rhizotonic in it, the next week I started adding 4ml of BioVega to the solution, the third week I added 8ml and found that my plants kinda stunted and darkened up, and beginning to get nutrient burn. When I noticed that it was getting worse, I went back to just the water and Cannazyme/Rhizotonic until present and plan on doing so until I bloom. I'm trying to use up the nutes in the soil so that when Bloom time comes, I can safely add my BioFlores and hopefully not have the problems that I am having now. Did you run into any of these issues when adding your Nutrient solution to fertilized soil? I see that you add quite a bit of nutrients to your plants and even to your clones.

I haven't been able to find any information on the BioCanna line really and am testing it for my dispensary as we are thinking of moving to it. The only person I know who grows using the BioCanna line grows beautiful plants, but is a bit eccentric and is sometimes hard to follow, lol. So for the most part I've been trying to hash things out on my own. I have heard that most people who use the BioCanna line use another veganic/organic nutrient solution with it. This seems ridiculous to me as my Veg nutes have been sitting on the shelf for a week. If you could provide any info or guidance if you have had any of these issues in your grow, it would be much appreciated.

My plants right now are looking great. They haven't been growing like I would like them too especially for being vegged for around 6 weeks, but with the problems I have had, I guess having healthier smaller plants is not bad. I plan on taking a few clones off of the GWS and the HB before I send those and the AK-47 and UK Sativa into bloom on Monday. Hopefully I'll be able to just go by what the planned feeding schedule says for the BioCanna line with the 1:1 soil ratio. Anyways, enough rambling, I apologize for this being so long, but I was excited to see someone else doing a similar grow to me. :)

How heavy is the fertilization in your soil?
Thanks a lot man!

Moderately heavy, whenever I get the right mix it can take me through to the next transplant. My mix was roughly 1cup kelp meal, 2cups soft rock phosphate, .5 cup high N guano (better results with it than without obviously, but there are few of my plants that don't have it), .5cup garden lime, and 20% ewc. If I left out the guano then I found myself using some Vega, with great results I might add, any deficiency was corrected within a few days and growth was never stunted.

To be honest I really don't worry about mixing heavily ferted soils, I've never burnt a plant with any amended mix, I even remember once I amended FFOF with lots of stuff and didn't get any problems. Most of it takes a while to break down, so it's difficult to burn a well established plant.

I've never used happy frog, and I don't know what the texture is like, but this happens to me with promix sometimes, I water and ALL the water comes straight out and it doesn't saturate well. What I do is water half of whatever amount I'm using, let it run-off and soak for about 10-15min I find that when I lift the pot if it's heavy then it took as much as it needed, and if not I set it down and water a bit more. I should also mention that I clean the saucers after each use, so when the plant is soaking up the run-off the saucer isn;t crusty and shit.

No, not at all really. I don't use the cannazyme or rhizotonic, I feel I don't need those things, although I kind of want to try hygrozyme which is basically the same as cannazyme. So I don't really know if that caused your problem, it's possible but idk. It could have been that 8ml feeding you gave... Whenever I did use Vega in veg, I used half strength unless I saw some kind of deficiency progress, if so I'd use 8ml/gal of the Vega with added maxicrop seaweed.

There's quite a few biocanna users on here, I'll post a link to Matt Rize's thread, he runs biocanna in soil less and knows a lot, and can surely help you.

Good luck man, I'm sure your mix will be fine but don't be afraid to through in some kelp meal! :D

Thank you for the help, I have been reading Matt Rize's thread too and was planning on asking him some questions. I am a newbie grower who had done tons of research and is finally putting it to use. I have been turned onto the Veganic movement and want to figure more out about it and I'd like to be 100% Veganic/Organic, but still have a ton of research and science lessons to take to get to that point. :)

I have been using Fox Farms line in 100% Promix and have been producing some great stuff, but I have wanted to go to a BioCanna line, but no one around me really uses it or knows about it. At the local grow shop, I am the BioCanna experiment because no one really knows about it, so I've had some pretty good help getting some things fixed from those guys. I understand about your problems with promix, I do a slow pour on it and let it saturate the promix and have found that a 3 gallon pot will hold a 1gallon jug of nutrient solution perfectly. With the Happy Frog the water will literally bead on the top for awhile before it slowly saturates in. I was only putting 1/4 a gallon of water at a feeding because it was just running out. It has gotten better recently, but I will still use the 1:1 mix until I start to tweak it. I went with the Happy Frog because the BioCanna line suggested BTP, but I can't find it anywhere around here because it has been banned due to sterilization issues. So I chose the highly recommended Happy Frog and the plants love it, but it is just a bit more of a chore for me to deal with and it worries me with the saturation issues. I want to use more of the BioVega line anyways. With the Happy Frog all I really need is a little cannazyme and rhizo to keep the roots happy and the rest would take care of itself. I figured cutting it in half might kill two birds with one stone and help with the saturation. So far so good, but we'll see in the next month of Veg -.-

I will probably be going to the Hygrozyme also trying to save a buck on a cheaper but equal product. I mostly went with the set up because that is what Canna listed to use, but will amend as necessary as I see fit. The more I read the more I find that I am still a newb and don't know anything, lol.

When you water, are you just adding pH'd water or do you add nutrients in the mix, and if you do, do you add them independently in separate feedings or mix them all together? Sorry about all the questions I'm just excited to finally have found someone who I can relate to, lol.

That's funny, my 3gal pot takes 1gal water/food exactly! haha...

Yeah, it's hard to find the BTP, I have a bag that I'm going to experiement with some clomes soon, but I only know of one place to find it and it's here in TX...

Let me also mention that I never use pH'd water, the tap I use comes out at 8+ (I first started growing I didn't test the pH of my water and never really thought much of it, so I just never worried about it), and I never have any problems. Although, I noticed that when I added the canna stuff the pH dropped to 7.01, interestingly. I mix everything into the water, I have a "transition" recipe, for example, which is 6ml vega, 8ml flores, 10ml humbolts bloom, 5ml bioboost, and 10ml maxicrop seaweed, each time I add to the solution I shake it up a bit, and I've never found any problems mixing everything in the same jug of water. You'll have no problems mixing all the canna stuff together.

Ya for my Canna line I don't pH the water, but with the fox farms line I do. I ph'd the water once with all my nutes in it and it sat right at 6. I figured that you were adding everything at one watering, but I wasn't sure. I see people say that they add so many things that I never heard of, especially when it comes to Veganic. I see a lot of people saying, "I add this for N, and this for Ca, and this for P and K. I'll understand eventually, lol. I just get so nervous because of all the problems that I have had, hopefully we'll iron it out on this second round in veg. Everything is looking good and healthy, just on the small side of where I think it should be.

Yeah man, I guess the best thing to do is just experiment and find out what fundamental problems you can potentially run into, and correct it for the future. I know I'm still learning so much, and I've learned a lot about my plants/system in the last four weeks.

Quick update on the bagseed sativas and the bbs clones. I'm liking these badseed girls, #2 has turned out really nice so far. I also think I might keep this bbs around, I feel if I give her optimal conditions, she will give back just as much.

Where did you get this feeding schedule? It is completely different than the one I use, lol. Is this a special heavy feeding schedule?

Oh and by the way, everything is looking great. I love the symmetric growth in the BBS picture that you have. I need to get a camera and start a journal. It would make things so much easier on me, lol. More issues come up and then I forget about the issues that I was dealing with, lol. 2 of my Apollos decided to turn a greenish yellow on me after transplanting them into bigger buckets. They have nutrients in the soil and as it is a fresh mix, I'm hoping they are just stressed out and are gonna pull out of it, lol. Any ideas?

Those last pics look really great man ! I saw some dicussion on happy frog soil . I use it and have noticed if u ammend with coarse perlite it does drain fast but still retains water . I started using standard fine perlite with no problems . Love the Happy Frog for Organics . I also am working at ammending heavily .Right now I,m up to 1/2 cup FF POM 5-5-5 ,8 oz EWC ,6 oz Kelp meal per gallon of soil ,I,m stepping it up each time I pot a new plant till I ruyn into trouble .Eventually it will be my own super soil mix . I,m using Age OLd liquids applying 1100ppm in flower ,every time I water.

is that a kies hound

Thanks for the compliments fellas, and LOL at the Rize comment, I'm sure he'd find that funny as well.

Yo Dwez the dogs are pomeranians, the father on the left, and his son on the right. I had to look up the hound you mentioned, it does look like mine, I'm sure at some point in their lineage they are closely related.

I'm going to take some more clones today. I have a couple indica badseeds the came from the same oz, and honestly it's the best weed I've ever bought. I got it straight from a grower in atx, and it was cured to perfection. You would place a nug on the table, for example, and it would leave a pile of kief behind. It was so good, and I was fortunate enough to get some seeds. I didn't get to talk to the grower about what the seeds might be (self-pollination, pollinated by another herm or male), but I now have two that made it from three seeds, and one is a confirmed female. I'm going to tie her down today, and get some shoots (clones) going. I'm pretty stoked on this plant, and hopefully I can produce something similar to what I bought this time last year.
