UV Lights? UVB

Hello to everyone, I am a newbie and currently assembling my grow room.

Does anyone use UV lights? (of course in addition to another main light source.)

I have a 600W HPS for flowering, and thinking about adding a UV light. I've been reading about THC levels being enhanced by UVB.

Thanks

Not yet, but I will be using a reptile UVB light for my next grow.

From what I've read, you should have a few of them and set them closer the plants than the HPS.

But you also shouldn't have them running for the entire light period. Just a few hours a day. UV rays are harmful to plants (and us), which is why they protect themselves by producing resin glands. So there's obviously a limit on how much UVB they can handle.

I am interested to know if you guys think they help. I was considering running one or two UV florescents for about 5 hours in the middle of the 12 hour light period.

What wattage bulbs are you guys using?

yup i got two 18w uvb lights 290-310nm each and a 600w hps...the best dank grown in the world comes from countries with the highest amounts of uvb..hps, mh all those bulbs r made to grow ur plant, grow ur leafs well we get high off the thc in the resin glands on the bud and uvb helps increase thc levels..i guess the resin heads have lil magnifying balls on the tip and the more uvb=more thc>>watch this video>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPcpt3Be28o

i run mine during veg 8hours a day and i had em 24/0 with no uvb at first then i switched to 18/6 but when the hps light goes off i turn on the uvb just for veg...then when it flowers i hear to put it on the full 12 hours but start low building ur way up to 12

I never heard this before... quite interesting...

Not that I'm doubting you, but can you enlighten me on where the highest UVB rays are concentrated in the world... well where dank comes from anyway... I want to give this a shot on my next grow... also, do you think the UVB rays will effect the h20 in the hydro setup? thanks

it's from like tibet im guessing the himalayas mountains but the best uvb is in alot of place mexico the middle east, cambodia but the northern united states europe they lack uvb and cant grow da a+chronic..at least outdoors..and no i dont think it would affect h20 as long as no lights getting in..the uvb bulb i got doesnt even get hot tho

from what I'm reading uv may help in over all resin production but that does not mean more thc. might even be less don't think there's any proof either way yet on thc production with the uv light someone at riu has a cool vid on the uv light.

well it does resin makes cfn which turns into thc..and how could u get less thc with a uvb?? that doesnt make any sense cuzz the most potent dank is grown outdoors

I watched the video on youtube, and understand the theory. Mainly wondering if any growers on here actually use UVB lights and noticed/believe in the results first hand.
