Vacuum pack storage

I'd like to store small amounts of herb to compare with next years crop. Its a hold over trait from my wine making days.
Would there be any advantage to vacuum packing in plastic for long time storage. You know, with one of those kitchen gadgets that vacuum seals food for freezing. Or is there another method that would be as good or better.

well you can put he bud in a vaccum packing plastic and put it in the freeze/fridge but i duno how long it would last, or you would put it in one of them glass vaccum jars, u know? but it would have to be realy dryed out i would say to hang it and slow dry it for about 2-3 weeks there are no damp buds, damp buds = moldy buds!

Yes the seal a meal works great. You just have to have your busd cured before sealing it,air degrades the triclones and with no air it dosnt degrade.Just dont put it in light. Some poeple freeze it and say it will last 6 months to a year frozen.I have vaccum packed some before, but it dosnt get to stay there more than 3 months before it gets smoked. But 3 months it is like you just finish drying and curing it.i think you can keep it for a year or more. PEACE

Yes it will last a good while. My uncle before he past away kept allot of his stash in those bags and I had smoked some he said had been frozen for over 2 years and it was good as hell with no noticable affects on the texture of appearance of the buds. I don't know if it lost any potency since I never smoked the stuff when it was fresh.
