Value check on chiller

Yeah you can get a new one for like 560.

I could even see paying 250 for it but you never know how many hours are on it.

Also make sure 1/10 HP is gonna be enough for your application as thats the small one.

At most I'll have three 5 gallon buckets going. Trying to keep it cheap.

Well 1/10 HP is only like 75 watts ish so it's not gonna handle much, an ICE Probe is close at 50 watts.

If you have a warm grow area I don't know that 1/10 HP is gonna handle that water volume. It might take 15 gallons down about 5 degrees from where it's at now. I am not sure of your capacity (water level) but I imagine more than 15 gallons.

Try that calculator and see if it helps, it even accounts for lighting watts lol

Bro what are you talking about? 1/10 can handle like 40-75 gallons depending on the brand. This one alone can chill 93gallons up to 10*F and 35gallons up to 30*F.
You're also waaaay off on the wattage. 1/10 pulls 280.

The 1/10 I got

1/10 HP is about 75 watts worth of cooling (actually 74.57), it draws more.

If it works great, I had one a long time ago and I was running a DWC setup for mother plants. The room was 90, and I could only get the water down to about 78 with my chiller.

have you tried positioning a fan to blow across your reservoir? you can get several degrees of cooling off that alone and it is very cheap, does increase evaporation though

I scored a 1/4 Ecoplus for 180. I used it to cool around 20 gallons. I could not tell much of a difference on my power bill after I got it. Maybe a few dollars. Best 180 I spent.
One of the older models like the picture I posted or their newer version that more resembles a PC Tower?

Just picked up a hydrofarm aach25 1/4 hp today for 175 off craigslist, only a couple months of use out of it on a fresh water tank.
