Vanilla Kush fem (x2), Sharksbreath fem (x1), Cole Train fem (x1)

hey all...so this is my first REAL grow...i experimented a few months ago with some bag seeds and the piece of shit aerogarden, but was not successful...the roots outgrew the reservoir and it was just a tangled mess, etc etc....so here i am now with my seeds that i ordered from attitude seeds...so far i have 100% germination success and have 2 Barney's farm vanilla kush, 1 UFO sharksbreath, and 1 UFO cole train in their respective net pots....i cut out 6 holes in an 18 gallon rubbermaid tote and have a 250 GPH pump hooked up to a pvc/sprinkler system that rests at the bottom of the reservoir...so far, after a few days, the sharksbreath has shown the most promise, but i realize that it is still very early...i went with the 150W HPS because my friend has almost the identical set up and his plants are nearing their harvest and they look astounding...also, i was concerned with heat building up and burning my plants...as of now, i have the light probably about 22-23 inches above the plants and the plants seem to be happy...no burn marks so far and no withering, which is always a good sign..
so here is my general set up, and pictures can be found below

also, i made a semi-green house structure which you can kind of see in the pictures..it just consists of PVC lining so that i had a sturdy structure to base the mylar around

150 W HPS sun system
1 18 gallon reservoir
foxfarm nutes
250GPH pump
standard air pump
1 5inch circular airstone...THIS STONE WORKS REALLY WELL!! can be found at petsmart
industrial size fan


some side notes...i'm a little concerned with space...the vanilla kush is estimated to grow around 2-2 1/2 feet...i do plan on topping as well, and i also plan on taking clones from the 2 strongest plants to occupy the last 2 net pot spaces


if you have any questions or suggestions just post them...also, subscribe if you want! this should be a successful grow (knock on wood) as i was able to take my aerogarden plants all the way to about week 2 of flowering before the plants just crapped out and i was working with much harder constraints with that system (space, low lumens, etc etc)

i am somewhat of a novice, but i have done my research, so lets hope this works...

i know it's kind of hard to see the picture above the bottom...the bottom picture is the first vanilla kush, the one above it is the sharksbreath, and the one above that is the other vanilla kush i have going right now

How big are your net pots? Also for flower you might want to add some cfl's to it just to maximize your lumens ya know? Also have you thought about maybe scroging? just a thought..

i went with the 5 inch net pots...for flowering i was going to add another 150 HPS sun system and then in the last 2 weeks replace both HPS bulbs with MH bulbs...what do you think? i've heard it makes the nuggets more potent and can even change the buds into crazy colors...again, this would only be for the last 2 weeks...i hadn't thought about scroging, but i looked it up and it seems like it might be right down my alley...thanks for the reply! and i'll check out your plants too...happy growing

also, how long did you let yours veg? i've been debating how long to let them go before switching the light cycle to 12/12...i know this is a ways down the road, but i just wanna get an idea of when i can expect to harvest

Alright word, i def think scrogging is the way to go especially since your putting those plants that close to each other, not to mention it really does maximize lumens, a guy on here named customcloset scrogged 5 swiss cheese plants with 1 400w hps and ended up with a pound of herb, so it def increases yield.

Well i vegged mine for about 5 weeks, next time though i am only going to veg for maybe 3-4 weeks cause the plants do grow quite a bit during flower. Also the way you should determine when to stop vegging if your scrogging is when the screen gets about 80% full.

Read this method on scrogging, its one of the best ive found so far
