I`m breeding out a few of my own crosses right now through selective breeding, feel free to ask away if you have questions (or PM). I`ll be in the corner waitin on your updates mate, :bigjoint:

So, after one of the two plants died, I decided it was time to switch to 12/12.
I flushed the plant for 3-4 days under 125watt 2700k lights, now I've started giving her nutes and added another 125watt light.
She's getting tall but there is still no sign of sex, let's hope for the best!

Alright so, yesterday I checked on my plant and noticed some yellow and brown-ish spots on some leaves, as long as some curly dried leaves on the top of it.
I think the curly leaves are due to overheat, so I raised the light bulbs a little, cause they were too close.
For what concerns the spots, I have read it's normal for flowering plants cause flowers need something the leaves don't need anymore, but I thought it would have been better to check here, considering also the fact that it hasn't shown the sex yet so there are no flowers. Is it getting ready for them, or is it a calcium problem or what else? Thanks guys and sorry for the pictures but I can't get anything better with a close look.

How are your temperature and RH in there RTF? They have some crazy heat-stress going on there, and some definite Ca and Iron problems, but the downward curled leaves look overwatered to me. What is your feed and flush program look like right now as well?

I honestly don't know what the temperature is, but I do know the bulbs were too close to the top leaves and I have moved them further up.
I give her 1 litre of water per day using Dutch Pro bloom nutes and the soil dries up pretty quickly, is it too much water for her?

I`m actually thinking not enough ... There`s serious drooping in the last picture as well. Water with no nutrients, and make sure you see water coming from the drainage holes, continue with a bit more after you see it start. You`re going to want to get her lots of clean water and let some of the build-up run off a bit, a slight shot of Silicate would help you too with the heat stressing (I`d give about 2ml/4L of Silica Blast/Distilled Water personally).

I try to do a plain watering (I use distilled water so a 4ml/4L CalMag shot is in order) once every 3-4 weeks to get rid of any salt or nutrient build-ups, then slowly raise your feedings as you go. In this scenario I`d recommend the psuedo-flush mentioned above, and continue your feedings at 50-75% or so afterwards. Keep an eye on your leaves, after a good watering, those droopy leaves should raise to the light ... if not, you may have a lock-out issue ... but we`ll address that if/when the time comes :). Best of luck mate,

Thanks so much for helping me, I really appreciate that.
I've watered her with clean water as you told me, I have hard water around here, do you think it would be better to use bottled water or something like that?
I'll see how it reacts and report here as soon as I have some news :)

No problem mate, any time. Tap water is usually okay, but salt levels could be an issue... Have you been using that water for the grow thus far? If so, I`d suggest getting some 4L jugs, a few at a time, of distilled. I suck up $2.50 / bottle for mine just to know I`m adding only what I dictate goes in. That allows me to go without flushing for a bit longer. I use 1 bottle for 2 plants (each gets about 2L per feed in my 20L containers) and buy them 2-4 at a time so I can feed and water for a week or longer :)

If you`re salt build-up is too high in the soil there, it`s going to lock-out nutrients starting with Ca, Iron, and Mg, and moving to the primary elements. Getting a distilled watering through will flush out your salts (I usually wouldn`t suggest a flush), start feeding with CalMag and your nitrients at the 50-75% previously prescribed my friend. Let us know how the bounce-back comes,

So, today I have switched off my big 125 watt light and have 100 watt left on the plant, a lot of the leaves look burnt so I thought I should have done something about the heat. I have watered her with clean water and I'll go look for distilled water now, I'll also have to look for an alternative to CalMag, as it seems it's impossible to find in the UK, but I have found a couple of options. When should I start using CalMag, btw?
Today my plant doesn't look healthier than yesterday, there's a side where all the leaves seem to be dying while the others around are starting to die too. I took these pictures to show you the situation, but I'm starting to get a bit worried (also, I'll be leaving in a week and I'll stay away for 4-5 days, so I'm really concern now)
Thanks again for your help, here's the pictures:

Those containers are getting good drainage? You might have a soil problem my friend (salts or ph). Give it a couple days to dry that medium out and see if those leave perk up ... getting rid of some of that heat will benefit you too. Give us another post before you leave mate, and you can start using the CaMg supplement whenever you start using distilled water :)

Yeh, the pot drains well! The good news is that all the new leaves that are growing are bright green, especially the ones on top so I'm guessing it's a good sign? I bought a few bottles of distilled water today, I looked for CalMag but nobody sells it around here. I bought Verve Garden Lime, as I read a few people saying that they use it when their plants have calcium and magnesium problems. Do you know anything about it?

Good news about the drainage and your new growth color! The Lime (although I`m unsure of the manufacturer) will be exactly what you need in this scenario. I`d say your soil has really high pH which is locking out Ca and Mg (also appears to N burn or heat stress, but it`s not). Use to it`s specs if it`s water-soluable (I mix dolomite lime into my full-cycle soil mix for pH buffer), and start using the distilled water ... you will not have pH issues unless your food is WAY acidic or too abundant. ATB mate,

So, it still looks really sick, the new leaves are green but their tops look burnt, but I don't think they're burnt as the lights are quite far away and I'm only using 100 watts CFLs with three fans on at top speed, so it can't be heat stress either can it?
I have starting watering her with distilled water and I have spread some Garden Lime on the soil as described on the packet, am I supposed to do it first though? I mean, shall I put the Garden Lime first and water after, or the other way round as I did today?

Also, shall I expect the curled and dried leaves to come back to life, or will they just fall and leave space for the new ones? And if so, will this mean that the flowering stage will take longer? And is there a chance that the damage done by now will lead the plant to die even if I'm curing her? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I understand every sign that my plant is gonna give me in the future, even in the worst scenario!

They might not come back if they`ve already had so much stress/shock, but new growth should be better ... The burning concerns me still, the distilled will help you flush out the build-ups (either high pH or high salinity at this point). And always lay down the top-dressing of lime BEFORE you water ... you want the run-off to the contain the lime as to lower the pH throughout the medium, instead of the top inch or so.

And any time you seriously stress the plant, you are set back in development, which equate to flower time unfortunately. Stressing in flower is much worse than vegetative stress, but can still be recovered from. You`ll see new green growth (light into dark green) without blotching and with uniform color once the medium gets into the rhythm of the 0ppm distilled instead of the previous water. Might take a little longer than it otherwise would have ... but you don`t have to abandon ship by any means :)

Hi KC,
So, I left my plant looking very sick, with all the main leaves already dry and yellow/brown-ish and some new green growth on top.
I've come back last night after my 4 days trip and the plant got even sicker, plus this morning I woke up to see that the lights were off, I don't know why but I guess the timer broke while I was away.

So, it hadn't been watered in 4 days, I don't know how long it has stayed without lights, all I know is that the leaves that looked sick still look sick and the new growth now looks like the old leaves, but instead of being dry they're just really flappy and pointing down.

My question now is, is there anything to do to bring it back to life, knowing that I have no more than two month (it was supposed to end the flowering stage in mid July) because after that I'll be gone for a month or so? The stem is still really green but I guess it doesn't really get affected by the sickness of the plant, I don't know...here's some pictures

I am sorry to say this mate, but she looks doomed! Don't give up though, after your month away jump straight back into it! There are plenty of growers here that will help you along:wink:

Agreed ... seen better days there for sure. Yank em`, pop some new beans, and get a journal going mate. We`ll help ya to a nice harvest :D. Keep your chin up,

Yeh, I unfortunately thought so...
At least I learnt my lesson: don't rush anything, be very careful with the nutrients, be sure the lights aren't too close to the plants nor too loose on the hangers, check the PH of water. I think all these took part in its death...

What shall I do now? Shall I just cut it down and throw it away?

Well I did cut it, I kept the main stem just because I felt like it would have been like having done nothing these months if I threw everything away :)
I'll have to wait until September now, but I'll spend these months studying on how to improve my growing skills and find a place in my new room to grow... I think I'll build myself something :D
