everybody seems to have different ideas for veg time (if youre veging at all) what are some key factors here?
I thought it was the genes. If the seed was male or female. Not the lighting. Am I wrong? Can a plant turn into a male because of lighting? I have not heard of that but I am new at this.24 hour light cycle will increase male %. or so my grow bible tells me. i went with 18/6 and my nodes are tightly packed in there... NO stretching. oh and use daylight spectrum for your veg cycle to keep stretching at bay.

Good to know. I wondered about the 24/0 lighting. That is not how they would grow in nature. I can see why that might Jack with your plants. I am doing 18/6 because that is what I have been told by so many people who have grow longer than me.A botany student posted some info. regarding the dark period's necessity for proper hormone balance & Calvin cycle function.
I think Garden Knowm knows best. 32/1 it is!I prefer to veg at 32 hours of light and 1 hour of darkness. This gives the lights, fans (and other grow eqipment) and the plant achance to rest and come out f the heat.
