You can get midrange bulbs but the best dollar value, IMO, is in 42w actual and get them in both 2700k (soft white) and 6500k (daylight). You want about 70% 6500 and 35% 2700 in veg, then reverse that for flower.

I like to use 42w in large clamp reflectors with an extender and a Y adapter to hold two bulbs. I've been finding the best buys on 40w and 42w cfls on amazon.com, sometimes with free shipping.

ok so lets say in that book i made the light look exactly the same i mean almost identical ( its my first grow and i want good results lol) im going to be growing max of 2 plants IYO how many bulbs and what percentage would be the daylight and what would be the soft white.... and when u say mid range bulbs which are those???? i was told to stay away from 3500k to 400k bulbs .... my grow space is in my closet its 2and a half feet by 2 feet and 6 ft tall

By midrange I mean just what you were told to stay away from, although I'm not necessarily agreeing with that. I'd say 6 bulbs 40-42w actual in your space would be decent. 4 6500 and 2 2700 for veg, 4 2700 and 2 6500 for flower.
