veg box and grow box?

So I recently decided to start growing using a PC grow box I'm in the process of making my own due to budget problems and I just don't know if it's safe to buy one from someone. BUT while building and learning how to build one I recently heard that I need a whole separate box called a "veg box". Do I need one? Can't I just keep my two plants in the same box from seedling. And I was also told I can cure my plants in my grow box after harvesting, what is this process and how do I do it? Sorry I'm a newb at all this I'm just trying to get all my information before my box is done. Any help is greatly appreciated

what you need is the following:

you'll need two areas.

You'll need one Veg box... and then you'll need one Flower box.

there ya go.

good luck.

peace.

Probably better to build on if you have any idea of how to build things. No you don't need a veg box, just know that your next harvest is 12 weeks away, could make it much sooner with a veg box, but you do not need one. You can dry the finished product in the box by adding a wire to hang them from, turning off the light and leaving the fan on. Then you can cure by shutting the fan off and putting your mason jar into the case, but you cannot grow more while it is in there, the light helps degrade it. Good luck, happy growing.

First off i waant to say thanks to the both of you for the info but i do got some questions still. Is a veg box the same as a grow box, like are they built the same. and why is harvest sooner with veg box? and how much sooner? and can you tell me more about curing or give me a link to a forum with the iformation i need.

Vegging requires 18-24 hours of light a day, flowering takes 12 hours light 12 hours dark. That is the only difference truly needed between the boxes, the veg could use blue lights (6500k) and flower could use orange (2700k or so). Why do you harvest sooner with a veg box? because you need to veg the plants (seedlings or clones) at least a week or two before putting into flower. Therefore if you have to do this in the flower box, you will have to wait for the seedlings or clones to root, and then veg them for however long needed. So it could easily take 4 weeks to do this as a newb, then you will have to flower them for 8. Now when they are done you have to start all over again, but if you have a veg box also then you could already have them ready to put into flower when the first batch is done.
As far as curing, there is a whole section on here dedicated to this, Harvesting and Curing is what i believe it is called, just look around.

If you go out and buy some autoflowers you can grow in the same box on a 24/0 schedule using CFLs from seed to harvest. You won't get 3-4-5 ozs a plant. I typically harvested .5 oz a plant dried which is fine for my personal use. They usually finish up in 9 weeks.

My first 2 grows were in a pc grow box that I bought. The biggest pot size in a pc will probably be a 1 gallon and you will have to LST the plant. Due to space, you will only fit 1 plant. Here is my first pc grow box.

Over time, a very, very short time, my pc box started collecting dust. The picture below is my new unfinished box.

Pot size

On my last grow I did an experiment with a 1 gallon and a 3-5 gallon not sure. Exact same conditions.

Pot size does matter.

You can see the results. I use the bigger pots now.

Like Trueno stated above. Look for "Harvesting and Curing".

Just my .02
