Veg/flowering ?

I am fairly new to growing and this website....some of you might notice that i am all over this forum.....i have a ?....im growing in a small corner of my closet that i have rigged for a place for the light source to be over head the plant...and i have it blocked off by a board that is covered with foil.....and i placed foil on the wall behind it....i wanted to know..if i had a 68 watt cfl...how long should the veg stage take...and how long does the flowering stage take...given i had the correct nutes and also what is a good watering schedule..or is there a rule of thumb for watering.....
I know there is much more to growing than these few step but i wanted to know a general time.....

Using 1 60w cfl...I'd say expect a 5week veg and another 9-11weeks flowering depending on strain. I'd have to guess you're growing an indica, out of pure intuition.
My golden rule here is: wait for the plant o have 6-8 internodes or 8-10 inches (for pure indicas) / 12-15inches (for pure sativas). THe internode rule is most always the best.

Watering has another golden rule. Wait for the soil at the surface to dry out. Stick a finger 1/2 - 1inch in the soil and check if it feels moist or not. If it's not moist, water.

great advice from the info that was given ... good job bud...

there's a few more things i'd like to know before I would of answered...
how much height space are you working with ? if you have a tall enclosure or tall open space you can let your plant grow to your liking... if your buying a specific strain you can always go on the companys specs it'll give you a veg time and flowering time... I never go by the flowering time they give you tho... examining the plants with a microscope is the best way to go about harvesting your ladies... on the veg side growing with cfls its going to take a bit longer... are you growing an indica or sativa ? or an indaca/sativa ? bagseed ? strain ?
