go to a hydro shop, but diy type of guys used hydrated lime to neutralize the ph, baking soda raises ph and vinegar lowers the ph ( i believe)

You can use lemon juice to lower the ph of your water. My tap water ph is around 8.6. I add 2 of the small lemons off my tiny lemon tree and it brings my ph down to around 6.5-6.7ish.

Also check your waters PH before you water and check the PH of the water running out of the bottom of the pot when you are watering. Or get a soil PH testing kit, that way you know what your soils PH is. The soils you are using might be a little hot (to much nutes) for such young plants. You might have to start off with some seed starting soil to get the ball rolling. I use MG Seed Starter Soil and the plants love it.

How often are you watering? How are you determining when you need to water? Stick a finger a couple inches down into the soil, if it's still wet then don't water. When the soil is dry, take a second to lift up your pot and notice the weight. Now water your plant until you have water coming out the bottom. Now pick up your pot and notice the weight. Now you have a reference of when you need to water your plants, when the pot is light like it was before you watered, it's time to water. Hope some of this helps you out a little.

Thanks Bamfrivet. When is the best time to check the ph of the soil? when it has just been watered or just before watering? Im about to do a ph test. I didnt think to test my tap waters PH as I assumed it was around neutral. How do I go about ajusting the PH with a lemon? Do I just juice it over the top of the soil?
I usually water every 3-4 days, but sometimes I mist the plants more often(not sure I should be doing this) I usually water when the pot is light.
Im using a 400W light which sits just over a meter away from the plants and I have the thermometer under it ontop of the pots which usually reads around 80F. Is this where the thermometer should be? Should I have the light a little closer?

silly questions, but Im learning lol

cheers :)

I wouldn't go any higher than 80F unless your adding c02 to your grow. Just squeeze the lemon over the water and stir it up. Once you get your waters PH to where you want it with the lemon, water your plants. Then test the soils PH. You can use a soil ph test, or test the water coming out of the pot after you water your plants.

Garden lime (dolomite lime etc..) should be used as a longer term fix for the soil ph. I think it's about 1 cup per cubic feet, so for those pots maybe a teaspoon-tablespoon. Just brush away 1/2"-1" of the surface soil and sprinkle it on then cover it back up.

The light is 400W. I read somewhere that it was to be just over a meter away from the plants when they are young. I have a fan which is also on a timer blowing into the room with the door ajar, although I dont have any extraction fan or anything.
It needed closer light when it was younger bro. Those plants look dead. I'd start over.

How the fuck is this even possible. I don't think anyone else could do this if they TRIED. 6 inches in 8 weeks? WTF? Is this a psy op to make people think it's hard to grow weed?

Ive added just over 1/4 a tbsp of lemon juice to my water then watered the plants - hopefully there will be a drop in PH when I test it in a few hours! Does anyone know if I need to keep doing this every time I water? Cheers

adding lemon juice to the water lowers the waters PH, so you have to do it everytime. It's just like PH down that you can buy at the hydro shops but cheaper and less chemicals

just tested the pH there and its showing that its still a little alkalie - is it fine to flush again with the water and lemon juice? or do I need to wait until the plants need watering again?

ya i wouldnt flush again man...let it dry out. and dont listen to all the negativity about she is already dead. thats BS just keep workin on your PH, and everything should be just fine. just remember "when in doubt flush it out" aaaannnndddd always flush before you start the flowering process to get all that nitrogen out, and get her ready for the bloom feed. best of luck! anything more i can help you with let me know.

Jesus Man.

step one: fill those pots up with soil to the top, those seedlings need the earth around em, see your stem is all white and fucked.
step two: when watering wait till soil is dry, stick your finger in a good few inchs and see how wet the soil is down at the middle. when you water, take pot out, fill with your water, and wait for the excess to drain off then put in the trays, you dont want excess water in the trays cos you want air to get at the roots.
step 3: you have some ph or other lockout issue, id flush with clean ph'ed water then start on 1/4 strenght veg nutes after its dried out.
your plants look terrible for almost 8 weeks of veg, should have gone into 12/12 by now like and they should be over a foot tall at least
