CFL's are the most inexpensive lights to do a starter or learning grow. The more cfl's you use the better.... You will need wind circulation, and probably a way to keep the plants growing around 75 degrees.

Do a search on diy cfl to see how to put together your lighs.

You can flower with cfl bulbs. You'll need warm white bulbs, rated at around 2700k (which you will find written on packaging somewhere) and plenty of them.
For veg you'll need blue white bulbs, rated at around 6400k. :bigjoint:

Thanks for all the help!!! How much will it cost roughly for light bulbs and hood are cfl the swerl ones or are cfl the long tubes

I bought a 2 ft 4 lamp from eBay $50 100 watt 20,000 lumens....have to keep verrrry close especially cfl's you lose lumens the farther away....I bought a 9 pack of 42 watt cfl bulbs both 2700k and 6500k for $37....there pretty damn big then I do have a few 26w hanging in between all with hood reflectors, like the ones you have in a garage with a clamp (very nice for hanging )
