Vegative question against the light time?

Hello,

Thanks for looking in,

My question is about the vegative growth. I have always believed the least amount of time you should veg before flowering is at least 4 weeks is what i've read.

I was a bit slow getting my seeds up and running and to speed up the growth in the veg stage i was going to run the light 24hrs.

So if i do this do i still need to veg for at least 4 weeks ???

I'm hoping by putting the lamp on 24 hrs i may be able to move across maybe in three weeks to my flowering room. Is this good or bad any advice on the best way appreciated,

I've put them into flower as young as 1 week from seed. The younger they are the longer you'll have to wait before they start showing sex. I like to veg until they show preflowers 4 - 6 weeks most of the time.

I should of said i only tend to use feminised seeds.

so are you saying even after just a week of veg you can flower them ?

What the least amount of time is accepatable for veg ?????????

Yea you can start from seed if you want. The 1 week old ones are now 5 weeks old and around 20" tall, they started budding about 1 weeks ago. From everything i've read and watch 4 weeks seems to be the average.

Yea, you can veg only 1 week if you want to, but it won't save you time overall (because it will just take 3 additional weeks to mature and show sex even during 12/12). 4 weeks is probably the way to go.

People who do Sea of Green bud directly from a clone. The larger your plant in veg the bigger it is in bud. For a normal grow you should wait for it to be at least 14"-18" or like Jmac said 5-6 nodes. About using 24 to speed up growth keep in mind this has never been proven... the more people look into it the more it SEEMS that 24 hour growth only serves to stretch the plants but not additional nodes. If you are strapped for space you might want to consider waiting out 18/6.

everything ive read on veg growth and light timeing like was said about 18 " is prefered and smaller then that and your yeild will be low , 4 to 6 node is sugested to sex the plants but i have never heard of anyone fully buding them that young , as to light timeing i have mine on 24/0 but my strain is very light sensitive, i dont notice any streaching but depends on the light sorce and how far away it is blue light-MH /MV lights work best for creating more nodes i usuly keep the light about 5 to 8 inches away from the canopy at all times, i have noticed that growing under 24/0 doesnt really make them grow any faster, but i have noticed by foliar feeding does increase rate of growth,
just make sure you dilute your nutes dont want to burn them

Thanks to all that cleared that up for me no real benefit leaving the lights on.

I will put the lights as they were and let then grow until ready :blsmoke:
