Hey all, I am building a sea of green setup and am using 2 600 watt HPS aircooled lights for the flowering room which is 8' x 4' where I'll have a maximum of 72 plants in 1 gallon grow bags. I am using heavy indica strains (White Widow and Critical) to keep them short since my ceiling is only 6 feet high. I want to do a crop every 2-3 weeks so I'll probably have 4 to 5 groups of plants.
The question I have is how should I set up my vegetation room?
I have heard you can either keep a few mother plants on 18/6 and use them constantly for clones or that you can take clones from your previous crop before they go into flower which cuts out the need for mothers. Which would be more efficient for me?
The other question is what kind of lighting should I use for the veg room? I was thinking of making it 4' x 4' and using a 400 watt air cooled metal halide. Will that be sufficient for the vegging? Will it be too much for the clones if they are in the same room? Or should I just use CFLs/T5s? Will there be a noticeable difference between fluorescent and MH for such a short vegging period?
Please provide some feedback/advice on what would be best for my situation. Money is not a major issue and I am willing to make changes to my current setup,
Thanks!
