Vegetation room, Sea of Green

Hey all, I am building a sea of green setup and am using 2 600 watt HPS aircooled lights for the flowering room which is 8' x 4' where I'll have a maximum of 72 plants in 1 gallon grow bags. I am using heavy indica strains (White Widow and Critical) to keep them short since my ceiling is only 6 feet high. I want to do a crop every 2-3 weeks so I'll probably have 4 to 5 groups of plants.

The question I have is how should I set up my vegetation room?

I have heard you can either keep a few mother plants on 18/6 and use them constantly for clones or that you can take clones from your previous crop before they go into flower which cuts out the need for mothers. Which would be more efficient for me?

The other question is what kind of lighting should I use for the veg room? I was thinking of making it 4' x 4' and using a 400 watt air cooled metal halide. Will that be sufficient for the vegging? Will it be too much for the clones if they are in the same room? Or should I just use CFLs/T5s? Will there be a noticeable difference between fluorescent and MH for such a short vegging period?

Please provide some feedback/advice on what would be best for my situation. Money is not a major issue and I am willing to make changes to my current setup,

Thanks!

depends on how tall are you getting them before flower.
if you are doing clone right to flower, it would be better to do mother plants.

400 would work fine depending on veg time, and would get you just that bit of extra yield per plant. would be worth it if you are vegging the clones for a few weeks before flower.
i just suggest lifting your veg plants a bit, to get the clones further away from the light.

if you are not vegging more than a week or so, just go with some t5's

thats how I would do it.

Keep the flower room sealed and throw a 12,000 BTU A/C in there with a Co2 burner, dehumidifier, and sulfur burner to get the maximum yield possible

If you're gonna have a veg room at all you might as well have some mothers in there, even if they're off to the side. You'll need clones every 4 weeks.

1x 400w MH will be plenty for that size room.

Yeah I wasn't planning on doing CO2 quite yet because I am still fairly inexperienced. What does the sulfur burner do? I wasn't planning on using an A/C unless really necessary. However if all that would increase my yield significantly I would definitely look into it.

How long could I veg them for and still keep them under 3 feet? How long would I need to veg them for to be able to get clones from them thus eliminating the need for mothers at all times?

Do you mind briefly explaining an easy setup for a sulfur burner? I'm interested considering it will be set up in an old basement. I have done a heavy duty clean of the room but I guess it's better to safe than sorry.
