Yeah, you just can't do both at the same time. If the room is big enough you could section off part of it to use for veg and the rest for flowering.

I sectioned off my room and split it into two. Search youtube for "I grow chronic" and watch those videos, he shows you exactly what to do and best of all its cheap and easy. (a couple 2 by 4's and some black plastic)
