Vegging techniques for max yield

Hey guys i have two female blue cookies currently on day 53 in veg.

I so far have done some LST and also kinda manifolded the plants too (mainline). I really dont even think i did it right because my stem system doesnt look like some of the other pics ive seen here.

I definitely have broken a couple branches over the last few weeks and just ended up removing them.

I am trying to achieve most amount of flower possible off of two plants, but obviously dont want to veg for 6 months either.
Im planning on maybe two more weeks of veg.

Not using a scrog, any suggestions on how to train the plant or what i should do to raise my yield?

any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

having problems uploading pics on photobucket, will add them when the site works again

You could super crop each branch in two places to give you a horizontal branch system, tie them so they don't straighten out as they do tend to try. I like to use plant ties and canes to keep then horizontal. You can then shape them to fill out your space and flip to flower when it suits you.

Edit, I say two places because that gives less chance of a full break, two 45 degree bends.

like you mention, big yields are only impressive with reasonable veg times. its for this reason that the most important factor is not stunting your plants.

i find the best yield/veg time ratio to be about 3-4 weeks

i top once, then use LST to produce as many top colas as possible. flip to 12/12 after about 1 month.
lots of people use SOG for max yield, which involves small plants, no real veg/lst, and immediate 12/12 one big cola per plant.
then you can do a real scrog, with a very long veg and thick canopy to maximize your square footage, this seldom maximizes gpw due to the extended couple weeks of veg.

If you want to increase yield veg less get more grows in per year 3 months on veg is insane you better be getting a lb per plant with that much veg

What sort of lighting are you using, how big is your footprint? You don't want to out-veg your lights.

What medium or "style" are you into? If you're in dirt, Bigger pots are always good.

I grow vertical, so I veg around 6 weeks, @ youraveragehorticulturist, you are so right about out-vegging your lights.
With this grow my, Big Buddha Cheese, the plan was to veg to 2/3 rds screen fill (screens are 52" X 22", do to the anticipated stretch. Well the best laid plans of mice and men did not turn out as planned. Two day prior to flip my son called and we left that afternoon for the panhandle of Florida to feed the people effected my Hurricane Michael. I called my apprentice an ask if he could look after the plants, made up 40 gallons of mix but did not want to make it for flower as he has not been in this situation before, so I said we will just keep them in veg till I return.
Fourteen days later I returned to massive amounts of growth, he had pulled everything as far as he could from the lamp and only had some minor burn, but the growth was over welling. The plants had already grown above the screen and were very thick. No time to do any trimming so I put them directly into flower, began SuperCropping and LST to no avail. They are near the top of the tent and just 3 weeks into flower so they have just begun bud stretch.

This is at the far back of the tent, this plant was sitting against the back wall, a it was growing behind the ducting for the filter and fan, just pulled it out. The upper arrow show the top of the 5.5 sqft 2 x 2 inch screen, the lower arrow point to the frame that holds the screen.20181124_093546_LI.jpg
Plant just to the right of the above plant, upper arrow top of screen and lower the frame. In the upper left is my filter that is at the very top of the tent.

This plant is to the left of the far back plant, note the fan which is also at the top of the tent.

Can't get a good pic of the two plants at the front of the tent, but here is a pic of the 5 of them around the two lamps. Monday after major trim and lights back on.

This pic is on Thursday, three days after tie back, an I had to tie her back some today. The plant that is marked is at the back of the tent.

This is this morning, Saturday 11/24, after lights off and after I rearranged them in the tent, the back of the tent is in the lower portion of the pic. The two marked plants now sit at an angle to the back of the tent. Had to move them so one plant was not against the back of the tent, which caused it to grow behind the ducting. I pull the plants from the tent weekly to tie back and rearrange. 20181124_094057_LI.jpg
So, speaking from experience, don't let them over veg! :wall: :hump: bongsmilie

These are what i got going on

both plants

stem of smaller plants

stems of bigger plant

both plants again

-crop king blue cookies

-Hlg 260 quantum board

-5.5 gal airpots

-Bio Canna nutrients

-roughly 2:1:1 ratio of fox farms coean forest, fox farms happy frog, perlite

- used great white myccohryzae during transplant

I kinda want to transplant them to a bigger container, but since its my first grow i dont really know how big the 5.5 gal air pot can get my plant.

I snipped that broken branch off today like i was saying, i reasoned myself that it was as if i took a clone off the plant, the smaller one is quite the bush and the extra space didnt hurt anyways, alot of the leaves in the middle were laying on top of each other.

So basically, what should i do at this point? if i wait one more week it will be 70 days (10 weeks) veg total, but i feel these plants are way behind from problems ive had along the way.

So what do i do at this point to get a good yield off of the two? further training? wait a few days from snipping off the clone and then flower? wait a week?
thanks in advance

2 months of veg at 18/6 ? do you have enough air blowing on the airpots to have a faster wet/dry cycle in the soil to promote faster root growth ? what are the qb's distance, they dont seem to be stretching out that far as if the lights are far away though? too much training too often?

So you think if i flowered now my plants would be as big as yours?
Would it be ok to flower in my current 5.5 gal air pots?
I flower most of mine in a 3 gallon pot that I drilled 40 7/8 holes in them and my average is always 4oz a plant. I leave them fairly dry between watering and water till run off. My nutes are at half strength
