Vegging with GrowBright HPS

I'm planning on using a 600W GrowBright HPS in my flowering chamber. The bulb claims to produce 30% more blue spectrum than standard HPS. So, my question is, do you think this bulb will work well enough to vedge and flower or do you think it's worth it to have a separate MH for vedge?

BTW, I'll be using an electronic ballast that handles both bulb types.

30% more blue spectrum from a HPS bulb is still very little blue. You can veg under a HPS, but your results might not be as good as if you had vegged under a MH. Since you already have an electronic ballast, I'd suggest investing in a MH bulb if you have the money.

Well.... alot of major growers(experts and big operations) use 400w mh to veg.....me personally ive seen alot of newbs mess up their seedling with that kind of wattage.....you have a 600w...... See what happens is seedling are very fragile...burn easy and dont need so much light cause there so little..... those 600w use mad power and get hot.....so if you want to use it make sure you have agreat ventilation system.....now imagine how much power you will be using for an inch or two of growth.....alll that power for 5- 10 migits..... thats why you should ivest in a t5 for the first 2-3weeks of growth.....trust me... little seedling ghrow faster under these( use very little electricity, no heat,and wont need as many fans)....plus you can put them an inch or two away...unlike the hps.....ive seen alot of growers...that were new....stunt seedling growth under big lights(or cause heat stess)....think about it....

I think it will be fine. look what i do and get great results... to hell with paying for an 89 dollar bulb... this works just fine and m hps bulb is 20$ and the cfls were like 10 for all.

So, what you're saying is, if the bulb is far enough away and the cooling system is efficient enough to remove the heat, MH is still the way to go? I will be using a separate mother chamber under cool T5's to root cuttings before moving them to the SoG setup in the flower chamber, regardless. I really just wanted to know if MH provided a justifiable advantage over CRI adjusted HPS for vegging.

ya too much orange spectrum( hps) can lead to EARLY flowering.... both spectrums work best....however mh(blueish spectrum) is best for veg....u get it...got it ...good....

Nice cheezy..that was a help to me and i didnt even ask the question...someone told me you can do it all with a hps which i think you can but its nto the best..that sounds better.i thought the hps would be a little to much for the young ones.

im doing perfectly fine vegging with my 400w hps, ill tell you what though, they are growing 10x faster then when i used CFLs and 1 t5.

im vegging under 400w hps right now and they are growing fuckin slow... they were clones and after almost a month they havent gone nuts, maybe its cuz they arent in a hydro system tho... i really wanna get rid of my hps and get an mh... to see the real difference... and prove my roomate wrong :)

I wouldn't use GrowBright, they are total shit and you will be lucky if you get it to work in your system. I wouldn't buy one unless you know you can get your money back when that thing never fires up.

Really? Shit... I was planning on getting both HPS and MH from GrowBright. What do you think about AgroMax and SunMaster? What do you recommend?
