Alright, so the tent I have is a Secret Jardin Darkstreet DS120W (2' x 4' x 5'4"). It's ports are 6". I plan on doing a 3 plant SCROG.
I followed a CFM calculation online factoring in I live in a hot climate, will be using a odor scrubber, and the volume of my tent. The CFM I ended up with is well under 100. The inline fans I'm finding are all over 100 CFM.
With that out of the way, I have a few questions.
1) If the exhaust's CFM rating is too high, will this have an adverse effect on my grow? If so, what would be the recommended rating I go for?
2) Given that I have a pet cat and dog, I'd like to have an active intake so that I can have a pre filter that will help keep pests, dust, pet hair, etc. out of my grow tent. Any suggestions?
3) And lastly, if I go with an active intake, how will that affect what I choose for my exhaust fan? I've read that you'd want one port to be smaller than the other, but on this tent both ports are the same diameter.
Once again, thanks to everyone for helping! I look forward to posting my first grow ever within a couple weeks.
