Ventilation

So this is my first time hydro. Been an avid outdoor grower for years. I have a 400w sun systems hood and 400w hps bulb going. My grow technique I’m going with and have already bought is Pete rock In oxygen infused bucket system. So what’s the best cent exit for my big air turbine fan I bought. Up? Out the Whirley bird or through the wall? Thanks.

draw air in threw a carbon filter inside the grow room, then threw the hood, exit somewhere where heat won’t affect anything, attics are sketchy due to humidity and proper roof vents. I vent my room into a lung room and I use a/c to control temp in my lung room. I force air in and out of the grow room.

Yeah I wanted to take the exit all the way up and connect it (to the attic vent) I’m pushinga lot of air with my fan. Cheapest place to get a carbon filter online?
I’m not sure where you live but amazon is the best bet. Just search inline carbon filter and find the size you need, make sure it has decent reviews. Lung room is just the room your grow room breaths from when you don’t use a sealed room. I’m just assuming you are venting the room based on the post info.

What size room or space are you growing in? What are you trying to setup? An sealed room will require co2 supplement. If your not running grow room air threw the light hood, just pull air and exhaust it wherever there’s a spot for hot air. If your cooling it with grow room air, it’s not a sealed room. You won’t need a carbon filter for the light hood for a sealed room if the hood is air tight.

I will deff need a carbon filter. 8x8 shop with Sheetrock on walls and gorilla glue tape on all cracks and corners. Norman work shop.
Are you going to draw fresh air from outside the grow room via passive vents or a fan, or are you going to inject CO2?

Another question. My leaves are looking like they are sagging down. Not happy. Water levels are just high enough for roots to touch. What’s the height I need to keep a 400w hps light away from these youngings?

I keep my water about 1” under the basket. 400hps, it’s been awhile for me but 12 to 24” rings a bell. I have a 1k about 35-40” Just hold your hand under where the canopy is for a min or 2, if it’s uncomfortable, it will be for the plants too. What’s your water temps like?
