JSB99, ive been doing a little research and wanted to ask with a set up with the fan and filter outside the tent would I run into co2 issues? is that why you said this setup would be a little complicated for beginners?

No, that has nothing to do with it. What you were wanting to do as far as isolating your hood air from the tent air is normally what you do for supplementing co2 during flowering to allow for higher co2 intake and higher temps inside the tent. But that is such a complex topic that I won't go any further.

But again, the question you ask tells me that you haven't read through some of the basics. When you learn the basics, you will have a better understanding of how to set up your grow for the highest success based on your own environment, needs, and limitations.

Go through some of the tutorials. Read, read, read. Seriously. Take a couple days and just read up on what you're trying to do from the start.
