Venting my 1000 watt hps

I need a little help guys im setting up my grow tent 8 x4 x 7.I have 2 8" in-line duct fans im going to use to vent out the tent but im a little confused do i need to vent the light to with different fans or will i be venting them with the in-line duct fans i have.I thought i would be running a duct from my fan throught the light but does this exchange the air in my tent to.I know you have to keep changing out the air but will i need to buy some more in-line duct fan maybe a 4" will do for the light or should i get a 6".I just want to get this right before i go and get my clones.Thanks guys for all you help and happy smoking to all

Your confusion comes across in your explanation.

Your gonna need some kind of carbon filter to vent your tent through so you don't push all that smelly air outside. And your gonna need an intake if your having an exhaust. Smelly air can escape through an intake if it isn't running 100% of the time, unless you have a filter on that end as well. You want to suck air from outside the room to cool your light, as cold as possible.
Those booster fans are really not the way to go. I have an 8" sitting on a shelf, brand new, because they don't do much by themselves, but they do a decent job of boosting already flowing air. A 1000W bulb is gonna have some serious heat, and I don't think your are gonna cool it very much with just a booster fan.

Wow those fans dont work good it says 500 CFM.I was going to get them from home depot.Will they work good for exchanging the air in the tent.And what kind of fan should i get to cool the light.Can i have and oscalating fan blowing on it will that help.Well im glad im getting all this corrected before i go and get my clones.

They're pure garbage for what we do. Those booster fans only trickle a bit of heat out.

Basically you need the can fans, a true "high velocity" fan. You'll do better if you pull your cool air from a source outside the grow, and release it back outside the grow, that way, you won't have to filter that air. And then you can use a seperate can fan for the actual grow.

That way you're using the fans in the areas they were meant for...It's a bad call imo to filter air that you're pulling thru the hood, with ducting only on the one side, should take the extra effort and complete the loop, so to speak.

By high velocity you mean like a vortex.Ok what if i only can afford one fan but i can get another in a month.And what if i have 2 8" booster fans to go with it how would you go about setting it up using those 3 fans.And when you say loop the fan how would i go about that.And what size vortex shoud i get im on a budget,i really want to get this on the way by mid next week but i want to have it all done so i can run it for a day and see how the temp is holding.Thanks for all the help it will be used wisely.

The money you spend on two booster fans almost pays for a can fan...or vortex fan, with the flanges on it.

When I say Loop the air, I am referring only to the air that you use to cool your lights. That air should not come into contact with your grow air, nor should your grow air be used to cool your lights.

I am tryin to do the same thing right now. I dont think I will end up being able to keep my cooling air away from my grow room. Im thinking it will suck air from the grow room and then through the light and exhaust via dryer or AC Vent

get a sealed vented reflector like this one, http://www.bestgrowlights.com/site/403863/product/SSI904300 and and run ducts for it in and out with a good fan. I just had to run an a/c line in there to cool my closet

BROOO YOUR A SAVIOR, SO GLAD I CAME ACROSS YOU. i was trying to figure out how to cool my hood.Running vents from outside into the hood sounds perfect.

You can use those duct fans for active intake. You need 2 good blower fans. I'd do one 6" for the lights and one 6" with a carbon filter for the room with a speed controller on the rooms fan, set on about medium. Then use the 2 duct fans for the intake.

You need a carbon filter, a cooled hood, and one good fan minimal. Maybe you don't need a carbon filter i don't know if smell is an issue with you. If you can only afford one good fan, get a 6", and for now, go (inside the tent) filter, fan, hood, out. Use the 8" duct fans for active intake. This setup had to much exchange imo but you will need it to cool the lights.
