Vero 29c vs hlg 550 / humidity questions

I've been looking a lot more into cobs and have been talking with @DankaDank over a vero option.

He's currently offering x6 of these units to cover a 3x10" area for £1650. With no interest in DIY it's seemingly the better option over 4x cmh or other pre built cob lights in the uk such as bud master.

Another poster has mentioned the HLG-550 that after some reading apparently ships to uk (unable to find price). Two of those units would be required to fill the area but as I've read around here it would be better to go with 4 of the smaller 250W models for better spread. I also looked into the plc units stumbling onto the hlg vs plc thread (what a shit show) but have no idea on shipping and costs of plc either, if they do. If anybody in the uk has shipped any of these products please give some insight on total pricing and what ever other info. Please leave out any of my new favorite word though, libel ;p.

I was interested in peoples thoughts on humidity issues that could arise from swapping out hps to cob. As hps pumps outa lot of canopy heat and this, by my understanding goes some way in reducing canopy humidity. Even if replacing hps with cob on a W for W basis is there a risk of added canopy humidity > rot due to cobs upward displacement of heat?.

every watt used is a watt of heat regardless of the source. I assume you are replacing 2 600 hps's . Your Cooling BTU demand will be roughly the same, you will have a better spread and a bigger canopy so your RH will go up for that reason.

As you probably know with LEDs you will have to run a higher room temp as well.

£740.00p, this includes £60-ish Ransom, sorry Customs.
This is with 20% off Croptober code.

Or £830.00p + Customs without code
:D

Would that be a similar price on 4x 250's?. I'd also like your opinion on how they compare to vero if you have any insight.

How do the canopy/root zone temps differ from hps?. With a fan speed controller+probe at canopy height maintaining 75-78 canopy temp (68-70 root level ambient) what changes should be made?.

Well.... What I did is take a a laser temp of the sweet spot of my canopy under the hps's. Mine was 82. My root temps with hps's was probably the same as yours.

The word on the street is that the canopy should be 85 under leds, but I don't trust that with all strains, rooms, and root containers. Soo I adjust my room temp till the sweet spot on my canopy was at 82 same as the hps temp, for me that was adjusting my once hps room from 76 to , with the leds 80 degrees. Following this I pay very close attention to my soil temps. A much warmer room can cause problems in the root zone. I want my roots at or under 75 degrees.

I see, maybe messing with the height and angles on oscillation fans will help?.

I couldn't say,,,,, but there is nothing wrong with a little experiment, as long as you ease into it and keep your eye one the prize they say in a perfect world plants like 96 canopy and 75 f root zone, so I guess what ever gets you there.

I can't get there so I like at 82 canopy ,70 roots , and 80 room ,
