Very Debated Question

Sooo ive been researching this site for about a year now. Getting ready to start my 2nd (but first real attempt). I plan on using CFL's but me and my buddy seem to have different thoughts on what CFL's you can actually use to grow with.

Now, I on one hand think that as long as their 42, or 26 watt (their just that watt because i want to use several of the smaller wattage bulbs like Roseman) that i'll be ok. He Says that they have to be a specific grow CFL, which i have never seen. It doesnt say anywhere about spectrums on one of the packages that i already have. 3 GE energy smart 26 watt'ers i was gonna use, then i was just going to buy a few 42's. Do i have to get special CFL's like my buddy says or can i just use any older regular CFL? Are all the spectrum the same in CFL wattage?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated for i am about to kick off what will be a beautiful hydro grow.

You will be fine with any CFL.

Although I recommend 46 watt :)

What is your friends source? Have him show you on the internet what he thinks you should use, then post a link please..

love & cheers

You should re-read the first few pages of Roseman's tutorial, you want 6500 kelvin and 2700 kelvin CFLs. You can run them in dual spectrum.

Any cfl is good man, either your buddy is misinformed or he knows something we don't. Just make sure you get the right bulb for vegging and for flower. Run 6500k cfl's to veg with and 2700k for flower. As far as wattage its up to you, the 23-26w have been tested to be the most effeciant.

Good luck man :bigjoint:

I have no clue where he got this information. We actually have a lot of conflicting thoughts on things. His first grow was one plant with a 120 w Sylvania grow bulb.
Definetely am gonna set this up today! Thanks for the help.
