very few pistils, not sure why

I've got two plants from the same batch of seeds growing, almost 5 weeks into flowering.

One of the plants looks like it should, and this one started off with a lot of pistils, but they've basically thinned out and these buds are still growing nicely, triches forming like they should, but virtually no hair.

Is this genetic? They're both being treated the same.

Lolz - talk about resurecting the dead. I'm researching the exact same thing.

How did it turn out?

Could be genetic........check for any small light leaks next to the girl in question(this includes light from any enviromental control panels/ on/off illuminated switches/etc.) and you obviously cut back N and increased p-k right????

Well they look nute burnt to me, which causes the hairs to recede prematurely...

I mean notice how both pictured plants have the burnt tips...?

Nutes preventing pistil growth...I don't think so.

Here's some side by side from several weeks ago, they grow like this.

so what your saying is that a nutrient toxicity has no affect on bud development?..........interesting

Except for the first pic, which does have burn, The colour of the leaves looks funny because I took the pics with a flash, and the MH and HPS lights were on. They're a very healthy green actually.

My point about nutes and pistils, if you notice in the pics some buds have a normal amount of pistils for 3 or 4 weeks, while the others (from different plants of course) have few if any pistils. It's a side by side grow, If I was over ferting enough to prevent pistil growth on one plant, don't you think it would negatively affect the others as well?

As far as I'm concerned the lack of pistils is genetic, and hopefully indicative of it's (supposedly) Chemo heritage.

From yesterday, trich production seems to be OK, another 2 - 4 weeks. Then I'll get my answer, I guess.

Looks like some fat calyxes to me. Some cheese strains look like that with fat calyxes and few hairs. More than likely just genetic. Even with nute burn a plant with a gene pool of lots of hair will still be hairy.
