Very important question!

Has anybody tested 2 plants side by side and cut the leaves off of 1 and the other left the leaves on and see what happens. Because some people keep saying the leaves provide energy and some say it stops the light from getting to the bud sites. So like... Wtf. Does anybody have any proof because i dont wanna leave my leaves on and not get good bud.

Its always best to try and bend the leaves into a position in which they arent blocking light. However, no matter what anyone tells you they think is best, there will always be an exception to any "rule". I dont do anything in veg but when buds start coming along and sites get light blocked, if all else fails i do a small prune when i trim off the little shoots at the bottom from when i top/lst.

I my experience a little light defoliation is beneficial if it gets light to a bud site, but I ALWAYS try my best to keep as many leaves as I can on by tucking them out of the way or cutting small pieces of them off because the leaves are a valuable source of nitrogen, especially toward the end when you begin your flush.
