Very slow grow

Hi, this is my first grow. I'm into around 4-5 weeks. And as you can see not much bigger than a lighter. I've learned a lot so far. I know Co2 helps a lot but we are gonna have that taken care of soon. Any suggestions assessments in general would be very nice.
I don't know what the soil is I know its a mix of stuff. One bag SAID mushroom in big letters. I was told that its very good stuff.
tomorrow I can get some new lights. They will have to last me a month till i can get some more. Not sure what to get for my setup. some input on that would be great. The current grow light is.

  • 75W of incandescent equivalent output using only 17W of energy
  • Color: 4200K
  • Lumens: 1093

im surprised they havent stretched much since incandescents dont do shit. get some 42w 6500k cfls and you wont regret it. I cant really comment on soil as i dont know what you are using. you could also try transplanting and giving them ph adjusted water with low dosage of vegetive nutes.mi doubt they are rootbound since they are so small. co2 also is npt effective during vegetive growth, its useless then, so wait until you get to flowering around the 3rd week to save some cash. also colder temps could be stunting growh so aim for around 70-80.

Looks ok for a small first grow mate, you could maybe put them a little closer to the bulb?
They will take off soon, seeds are often slow at first while they establish a root system.
I wouldn't worry about co2 yet.
Do you know the temp/humidity in there?

Is it actually an incandescent or are you saying it's a fluro with a lumen output equal to a 75w incandescent?

Thanks man! Its pretty cool inside. I'd say around the normal temp maybe a little cooler. The bulb doesn't get warm at all. So it has to be in the low 70's. As far as humidity I give it a couple good sprays and shut the doors once or twice a day. Letting the fan push the moisture around. They are 4 inches from the bulb. If the need to be closer I'll get on that. Thank you for your respond

I had two in netty pots where I placed 2 23 watt (100 watt equiv) 6500 k on one side, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the other side. Use a 2 or 3 way splitter on the bulbs and remember that the CFL light is best when the side is facing the plant rather than the bottom. I wish I had taken pics. but did not until I moved them into the tent once I transplanted to 3 gal pots. As gaztron 3030 said, once those roots are nice and established, with close as you can CFL lighting.. they will take off (given pot does not get root bound)

How on earth would CO2 not be effective during vegetative growth?

It is a bit silly to be wasting money on CO2 when your main problem is lack of light. Focus on that before you even start to worry about CO2 is my advice...

I was sort of hi-jacking the thread to be honest. I'm posting a helpful reply to the OP as we speak though. So could you possibly answer my question? :p

Definitely not root bound. I don't even see roots coming out of the bottom. And the bottom of the pots are pretty much 90% holes. I will try your suggestion. Seems like it would be effective. I think they need a little change. Thank you very much. I will get a couple of those lights you suggested. They seem to be very inexpenisive. I really appreciate all this help. What size pot do you sugge. So I don't know what is up with that. They were outside in the sun for like the first 2 or 3 sets of leaves. And that was like 1 to 2 and a half weeks. Then I got that light. The tempature is a little on the cool side. The light doesn't give out any heat at all. The cover thats over the bulb is not even warm. And plus the fan.I guess that will change when i buy new lights though.

It wasn't me that said CO2 won't work in veg. That's just nonsense, of course it does. But the OPs using a 17W CFL..I'm just making it clear that CO2 is unlikely to help as much as more lights would..

yhour plants are way bigger than mine lol. I can't really give you any advice for them. You probably know more than me. I just started educating myself a couple weeks ago. Your plants look perfectly healthy to me. Very good job.
