VERY very close call - how stupid? You will be shocked

We have WOF's at work, Water On the Floor sensors. Effectively just two wires and a simple circuit to measure the resistance between them. When water shorts out the wires the resistance goes down and the circuit causes an alarm.

I have a little alarm sitting on the floor by the water system but you can't hear it upstairs. If I go into the shop near the top of the stairs I can barely make it out.

I'm sure I can find something local to fill the bill.

The flood was a freak due to bad drainage outside during the spring melt one year and the county had to do a lot of repairs a couple miles from my place. My dugout water system is getting very old so chances are something's going to give one of these days and I'll have an indoor swimming pool.

I want to replace the whole whole thing before it blows but lack of funds makes it hard. Once it blows tho I'll have to find the money somewhere. I soon turn 65 and can get an interest free gov't loan to do repairs o may go for that. I can do the work but need the parts.

The whole place is falling apart so time to sell or have a fire sale.
