Update - Lilac Auto

The Lilac Auto has been doing well under the XS1500 pro - short nodes and all .


So it was time to pull the “ plug “ and see what her rooting is looking like …. Excellante’

So i whipped out another 3 gallon airpot for her.
Added a bottom layer across mesh bottom with coarse #3 perlite and top filled with Recipe 420 potting mix amended with EWC / Dynomyco / Recipe 420 Recharge veg mix ( dry ) .

I decided on airpot over my growbags and regular plastic containers because of the air holes - they can also allow tie points for LST. I may top this auto ( at least once ) as an experiment.

The XS1500 pro is starting to become a favorite little 2x2 light. It germs seedlings well ( under dimmer control ) and i have 2 clones under it to see how those will do as far as rooting.

I have tested other “ Single LED board “ lights and this one so far is my favorite. It is a no brainer piece that can be upscaled easily and for affordability.

@ViparSpectra - maybe in the future look to increasing this 2x2 light’s wattage to at least 200 or 250 ) for the sweet spot in a 2x2 size. Just a suggestion

Update Part 1 -

Light has been on full power for a bit and adjust plant exposure by height to light ( hangers or risers ) - figured I would squeeze every tasty photon out of it. Although I am cramming plants together under the XS1500 PRO ( 2x2 footprint ) there is no issues even in the “ fringe areas “ of light.

All plants respond well under it and have zero problems. Just for me , I wish I ran 2 in daisy connection to flower more than one plant when the time comes.

This is the Cafe Racer a few days ago getting up potted. You can see she is a happy camper.

Easter Update -

The Coco grown Motor Breath plant has really took off since last tues. Plus she was just topped.


I am feeding her 1x a day for now @1.2 ec ( 840 “ish” ppm ) - Maxigrow / hydroguard / armor si ( foliar ).
Ph @5.8-5.9 …….

As far as Soil - my layered mixes are doing just as well. Healthy green colors . The lilac will get some tie-down training pretty soon. Plus she also has been topped.



Really happy with this little light @ViparSpectra , the XS1500pro is definitely a winner !

Look at the difference since sunday ( 4 days ) - growth has been remarkable. Fans are larger than my hand .
Extremely thick girl.

I do plan to LST her but am trying not to remove the big fans right now and might tuck them instead. The light has been perfect for her .

She is doing so well - a cutting or two might happen also.

This is a cool little lighting system here, I don't need it yet I'm almost tempted to grab a pair for my 4x2 tent..lol. They put some thought into the design of this thing.

Well here she is after going to get her “ hair did “ ( LST / Pruning ) ….


i did take off a few bigger leaf but she didn’t even flinch . After i finished , i sprayed her with a silica foliar to toughen her up.

She is getting a once per day feed 860 ppm / 5.8 -5.9 ph with Maxigrow.

Looking great! Big green leaves! Some tops are going to pop out

So here we are …. Motor Breath . This is the plant that will have the light to itself. All the others from beginning were placed elsewhere. That 2x2 footprint just wasn’t enough for all those plants. ( KKP / Lilac Auto / Cafe Racer )

So she is pretty much in the shape i am looking for .
I will take a cutting or so by the weekend and will probably will flip her on Saturday or sunday.

Wish i could have had a chance to grow more plants under the @ViparSpectra XS 1500 pro but this lamp will be limited in use because of the 2x2 footprint- however a set of 4 ( daisychained ) would be the best setup for typical larger 3x3 indoor grow …. You know what i mean ?

In closing , this light will grow one plant very well But …. We will see what this little light can do with flower.

Flip Time -


Today is flip day for the Motor Breath plant under the XS 1500PRO @ViparSpectra .
She is as healthy as a horse

I do plan to do a little more pruning ( lower ) and LST ( to open her up ) in a couple days.
‘But she is now on day 1 of 12/12. The XS 1500 PRO has been a phenomenal light for this single plant.
‘And as such , the obvious connectable upgrade ability with up to 20 lights is a winner.

For this 2x2 size run so far , this light is will get it done.
