Viparspectra LED 300w light distance?

Anyone have experience or multiple grows with the viparspectra 300w?

The manufacture book says...
seedlings 36-40"
"after a week or two" 24" for veg
15-18" for flower...

I have heard many people say they leave the light 24" with seedlings as get as close as 10-12" above the canopy for veg/flowering.

Anyone else put the led closer than the manufacture book says?

Ok thanks. I got 1 fastberry auto on day 10 in flower @ 12" from the canopy right under the light.
Also two seedlings not doing the best on day 15 in veg about 18" away from the light, but they are also in the corners of the tent so not directly under.

I actually have been looking at cobs for flowering and using my viparspectra for veg.
Looking for a good light around $200-$250 that can cover a 4x2x6 tent.

I just pulled my first harvest, clipped the buds today after 4 days of hanging.
Had 2x plants in HF soil, 3gal pots in a 2x2x4 tent with my one 300w viparspectra.
Pulled 68 grams of dank herb, the strain was somango from seedsman.
The colas and buds weren't super big nor dense. But for my first grow it was not bad at all!

A lot of blurple haters here. I myself have tried them all and still use blurple in one of my tents. Yea I know they're not great but I've grown some killer bud with them.

I dont think anyone says they cant grow plants. It's just they cant really do it well. The cost benefit ratio is poor...
I had a 600 true watt burple an it was alright, grew plants. Was great when used in conjunction with a 1kw hps. Just lacking as a standalone light.

Good use of space? Does it look like I was trying to utilize the space? That was an auto experiment yielding 8oz on 1 plant using blurple... What does filling the space have anything to do with what were talking about... Don't get off topic. You said blurple can't grow good bud and that simply isn't true. I own cobs,qb's,HPS/MH and blurple. Just because your not into it and couldn't achieve good results with it doesn't mean it's bad...

Bro... I said it's a bad cost to benefit ratio. It's not a good standalone light. I said it can grow plants, just not well. And then you post a picture that's pretty much exactly representative of what I mean. If that's what you call a good plant an that's what you want from a grow, by all means use what you want I cant be bothered. Personally I'd be very unhappy with a plant like that and buds like those. Everyone has differant standards.

hell yea man do your thing. the reason i say cobs is because you can mount them to small heatsings and use that to augment the blurple. dont forget you can also get a uv and ir led puck from rapid led as well to get that "full spectrum" but for sure use the cobs. a 1000w hps puts out 100,000 lumens (lumens are for humans), but look up how many lumens your at now and jack it up. dont forget to use meanwell drivers. shit crack that led and put meanwell drivers in it too.

Here is one of my 2x4 builds - power supplies and wiring is not finished yet:

8 Samsung F series strips running up to 300 watts. 49,000 lumens and 689 uMols/s total PPF, in a 2x4 it should yield an average PPFD of just over 900 uMol's/m2.

Small correction, a 1000 watt hps produces 145,000 lumens not 100,000

Look at that cute little light! Slim and sexy!

What are you using for the frame/heatsink? Im going to have to get me some of the new Samsung or EB strips to play around with.

Lol @ cant really do it well. Where do you people get these ideas... there are so many variables I hate general statements. Can't do what well? Yield?

The price per watt, and the yield is junk compared to other lights. Every light can grow plants, some do it better than others, making these ones not do it well.
