IR diodes appear dim to human eyes because they are at the edge of our spectral range (730nm).
(EDIT) - IR & UV diodes both appear dim, but are just as powerful as every other diode on the board - DO NOT STARE AT THEM - they will damage your eyes.

I'm not doubting you at all - but I am keeping an eye on these lights for future upgrades, so I'm interested in success / failures.

Here ya go. Let me amend my original complaint because on closer examination the ones I thought were burnt out were actually screw heads so my bad there. Regardless there are two that are clearly dimmed in the second and third rows from the left. Not the end of the world but also not great on a unit that's only been operational for three months.

Well in the end the VioarSpectra XS2000 did a great job. The plants were taken down on Friday and are hanging for 2 weeks while I am on holidays. Seeds will continue to mature a while during hang and should be easy to shuck when I get home. Thanks for the opportunity to test the light @ViparSpectra Grower , it did a great job. I would definitely reccomended these lights to someone as they clearly get the job done. A few final pics.

That's a bummer, did you contact Viparspectra? Warranty should cover this.

They do appear dim - thank you for the pic! :bigjoint:
IMHO those are 730nm diodes - as mentioned they appear dim to human eyes because they are near the limit of our eye's spectral range.
The mix of FR (Far Red) IR (Infra Red) and UV (if any) should be listed on the light.
IIRC:
The white diodes are a mix of 2,700k & 5,000k
The reds are a mix of mostly 630nm & a few 730nm to get some Emerson effect.
No UV.

- How are you shucking your seeds? - I'm a few weeks behind you, so watching closely!

Any plans for the sugar leaves?

Thanks brother. Never gone through a seed run so likely just by hand. Took 1 top cola from 1 plant and shocked the seeds. Once I was done and picked out the white and green ones I ended up with 846 seeds. I am guessing thousands by the time I am done. No plans for the sure leaves at present but time will tell.

Not a blemish on those plants. Well done. I grew with HIDs for 25 years, stopped when we went legal and now I'm itching to start an LED grow. I have settled on this Viparspectra xs

Your pictures just sold me. Much grass amigo!

Now all I have to do is find all the parts to my grow tent

I made seeds of every store bought genetic I grew over many years. One day, I cleaned out the veg drawer in the fridge, put the black garbage bag with my years of work on the floor. Spaced out, and threw the garbage bag out with the rest of the trash. 20 years of breeding and crossing F1s from the original breeders.

The first time I bred, I took a male bursting at the seams and shook it over the crop. The cloud of pollen filled the air. I got thousands of seeds , Duh! Old timey seeds from The Brothers Grim.

I'm so bummed all those genetics are gone. :)

I know this is an old bread but hopefully you'll see this and provide an answer. I have the same light in a 2x4 tent at 5 ft tall. You said you were running the light at 100%. So I'm just curious did you have it hanging at the top of the tip the whole time or did you raise and lower it based on the plane growth?
