Virginia Becomes First Southern State To Legalize Cannabis

The final version of the legislation would allow adults 21 and up to legally possess up to one ounce (28.3 grams) of cannabis without the intent to distribute beginning July 1. It also would allow the home cultivation of up to four plants per household beginning July 1. Public use of the drug will be prohibited.


Many parts of the bill dealing with the regulatory framework will have to be reapproved by lawmakers next year. The possession and cultivation pieces will not.

The brothers & sisters out in VA will be able to grow some quality flower in a few months.

Fuck that shit. It will be like California and other legalized states. Big corporations will take over and the home growers that led the charge will get fucked. The best we can hope for is to undercut them. They pay stupid taxes and EPA regulations. black market or GTFO. Fuck the government.

At least they can grow 4 plants as of July 1 and face no penalty.

Caught with 1 plant here in TN and i am fucked. Should get my CBD permit and sneak the good ones in.

I try not to go into VA very often. Their police are intense.

Wait, WTF happened to the price of seeds. Its been years and now I have to get a loan to pick some up.

Gotta get something for that July 1 date. Oh and how nice it would have been if we could have just legalized the growing at the date of signing. Then I could have had a nice outdoor thing.

For clarification, Ive read that the 4 plants must not be visible from the road and must be locked up from minors and that if they are outside you must put your ID (drivers license) address and name on them. ALSO a big thing I read was that if you are traveling with it in your auto, it must be locked up in the trunk, not sure how that will work with cab trucks. But I did read this would be a big deal as its the only way to insure you aren't actively driving and flying.

Thought I'd revive the VA legal thread with a pic of some organic, legal, VA grown Blue Dream closely guarded by a Blue Ridge assassin. Legal growing even with such a short season has been a blast and next year's full season is going to be amazing. Let's see your legal VA plants!

With any luck I will be starting my first legal grow within a week or two. Fingers crossed should harvest just before my B day in April.
