I grew a 5pack of Vortex in my first year of growing. Three fems. One was above average and the other two were dank :hump: Trichs everywhere, under the leaves, on the stems and stalks.

Great baby poo (its a good poo, intoxicating, not nasty at all) smell with that lemon? snapple taste. Excellent herb. I know it doesnt mean much but one friend swore it was the best weed he had ever had.

I want DQ next but its hard to pick with so many strains with great reputations.
Thats the bottom line. Subs gear has great rep, very few complaints

re-check everything you did m8, it is possible to cause plants to hemmi because of your own mistakes i have done this myself about a year ago
and im not knew to this either lol
i think heat was the cause, my afghan1 i have grown it as a seed plant and a clone 2 times, on the 3rd run, it seeded quite badly
totally my fault as i know the genes are fine from all the other harvests

it is also possible that your particular vortex seeds were at fault, like you have said accepting half the blame seems fair enough to me
although your thread title vortex sux, kinda implies it sucks for everyone which is not the case, i think you could of titled the thread in a less confrentational way

peace , better luck next time :)

I have 3 vortex in week 6, out of 5 seeds, 3 were girls, that is about the average for every TGA strain I have grown. I have NEVER had one hermie on me. MY 2 cents.

I grew vortex outdoors last year didn have any nanners at all. Chopped almost all the buds except the lower ones which i let go for another month and not a single nanner on those.

Its cool dude i understand your frustrated because your getting hermies so yes you need to step up your game. If your making nub mistakes and letting your plants get covered in nanners before you notice tells me you dont pay enough attention to your garden. As for my grow room it is just as clean as yours no bugs what so ever and it gets cleaned every run. So unless youlve been in my journals you dont have room to talk.

OP-
I think you would have received nicer replies on this topic by titling your thread "My vortex hermied, that sucks!" INSTEAD of "Vortex Sucks". Many, many growers here on RIU have had great success with Vortex, with very little to no problems with hermies. It just seems that there would be a reason (if only bad roll of the genetic dice..) that only you would be the first person I have heard have this problem with Vortex, but to say that the strain SUCKS.....is just not what tons of us have experienced with it.

My keeper Vortex cut tested at 21.89 % THC, never threw one nanner, and tasted like mango candy mixed with skunk and poo. Maybe try again?Skunkpoo Vortex.jpg

i know... if someone came in here saying well... what is your nutrients? pics? temps? humidty? lets see if we can figure out why it hermied!

but no... called out... you suck! must be your room! doing it wrong! etc etc etc

ridiculous.

Dude, people are responding to you in kind. When you title a thread "Vortex sucks" in subcools sub-forum, do you expect to be greeted with hugs and kisses?

I don't know sub, and I'm not the ass-kissing type, so I have no skin in this. I purchased packs of Cheese Quake, Jillybean, and Plush Berry, and they are in veg as we speak. I will give my own unbiased assessment of the genetics when the time comes .... but I will certainly have enough respect to not come on the mans forum flaming his company when I do so.

A little common courtesy can go a long way.

All the leaves in the 3 pics have burnt tips,so you have blatantly over fed them,All strains have different feeding regimes,so this can happen when you run several strains next to each other that feed differently, some will like how you feed them some wont, every one has already said it was probalbly stressed from over feeding as its a fickle plant that doesnt like too much food, the burnt tips prove that is the case in my opinion,

ill go spend more time if necessary to get more pictures...
and... heres a picture of the plant DIRECTLY next to one of the hermied vortex... (my own strain.)

Is that an infrared heat gun on the table? I just had a "DUH" moment, why haven't I used mine to pin point hot spots / cool spots in my room? Brilliant Idead!!!

this is what i have been thinking the whole time. i assumed it was the problem when he said he's using Hydro nutes and its only his second grow..... then the pictures confirmed burn on the leaf tips...

its NOT genetics... even the pictures have shown that. i've had a higher success with TGA than i have had with SOMA, they are elite gene's....

Sub is solid, Subs seeds are solid, Maybe its the bank selling you bunk seeds, Dont know what to tell you, this is the first I have ever heard anything like that about subs seeds. Enough flaming has gone on, and in fact corbat you and i commented on damn near the exact same rhetoric about a different seed bank, same problem, and you had the same response a few months back. so many years of this Déjà vu, I cant see any need for this sub-slander to continue, 6 pages are more than enough. thread closed.

here's a thread from sub worth looking into, and it could clear things up.
