Exactly which is why many states like New Jersey that have legalized it don't allow you to grow. You're forced to go to state licensed dispensaries. I know in Washington you can only grow with a medical card. Here in Portland we get to grow 4 plants legally for recreational use but that still hasn't kept dispensaries from popping up on every corner. Across the river in Vancouver dispensaries are everywhere. All raking in cash for the state.
I think the vast majority of cannabis users don't want to bother with growing and prefer to just go to a dispensary. And out of the rest that do want to grow fail and quit. People that grow for personal use are just a small percentage of cannabis users. So we don't get a voice at the table.
