Quick question, just got this Leaf laser from AC Infinity. What exactly is it trying to tell me after scanning my leaves? I have my VPD set and controlled for flower, but the VPD chart(pulse chart)is lower than what showing on the scanner. Is it telling me that my true VPD should be 1.71 and not what the chart says?

Not quite sure what you are asking,
but with your 79fahrenheit + 46.6% humidity comes down to 1.7kPa.
So bit on the dry side, but close enough I'd say.
The laser is handy when measuring the leaf temperatures, since they evaporate they are often bit cooler than the ambient temps.

Thanks! I guess it’s just giving me a separate reading at the leaf. The chart that I use has three different curves. One for seedlings, veg, and flower. I guess the point of the meter is so you can get the leaf VPD into the correct range and not the ambient VPD. Correct? Is that what the VPD offset is for in the controller settings? Appreciate any input.

I shoot for 1.0 - 1.4 in flower.
Alright. Well the product isn't familiar to me, but I suppose there could be some logic programmed to it.
Maybe it shows the ambient and laser reading?
1.4-1.6kPa is probably ok, the charts might have bit different values in them.
The chart I gave had VPD of 1-1.35kPa for mid/late flower, so somewhat same ballpark still.
Perfect. I think I got it. I think you’re supposed to use the laser to determine the offset. You then put that information into the controller and it will aim to control leaf VPD instead of the general ambient VPD. Sometimes it helps to just have other people comment so it makes sense. Thanks a lot.

The leaf laser is measuring the RH of the room, if you are holding it in the room.
If you just stick it in the tent and take a reading, the RH numbers will be different.
Leave it in the tent for a few minutes to acclimate, unzip the tent and take a measurement.
