Now to see if they help. I asked him if I could break the fuse somehow....He said "Hell no, you are going to need surgery to permanently fuse them". I looked, it's an outpatient minimally invasive thing, although still very painful I read.
I don't understand how they can be partially fused. Either something is fused or it's not, in my (simple) mind!
