yeah OP you can't steal genetics. well you could very easily but its not the morally correct thing to do.
It would be fine if you used someone's gear for a cross or something like that (you should still give credit to the breeder for 1 half of ur cross) but buying a 10 pack of reg's from anyone...putting them in a room...letting the boys knock up the girls...harvest the seeds then sell them as something completely different is complete rip off..
ive heard and seen breeders use certain strains w/ their own but usually they give credit.
if you want to do something similar it would be more advisable to develop a strain solely your own. Make it the best it can be. Something everyone wants and bud shots could make the cover of high times...if you come up with something that good it would be a idea to cross it with other strains. ive seen that a lot and don't see anything wrong w/ it but plz don't steal.
i dont want to buy Super couchlock haze when its really northern lights in disguise. why not just sell northern lights then? its not nice to fool your customers they wont come back. the seed business is a tough market (marijuana seeds at least) where if you fuk your customers they wont come back especially since seeds are so expensive (you can get like 10-20 for $1 of fruit/veggies) and people have to wait so long to get them.

Firs off, do you want to be a breeder or a seed bank? Seed bank takes no skill in growing or breeding (just knowing how to run a business and having great backing). Being a breeder would take years.

Imagine what would happen when the end user grew out 50% shit and 50% good no matter what the conditions...b/c that's what you get from bag seed.
They do have a viable use however, for dummy plants. Those are the ones I want people to steal when I hide the good ones further back on guerrilla sites.
Every year I buy a bag of Mexican brick for that...lol

Attitude has always delivered for me. I have had some seeds not pop but that is nature of the beast overall I am happy with them and quick delivery.
If you live in the US think Marc Emery and how far they went to get him vs how easy it would be to get to you. Not to mention it takes years to cross bread for stability then marketing for name recognition. Name recognition is going to come from all the CUPS and then your competing against those with all those things accomplished.
Other than that if you can pull all those things together YOUR THE MAN GO FOR IT!!

If you wanna start your own seed bank with very few strains and go from there you need at least 1 strain to start with you make batches of seeds. You have that on your seed bank list and you buy a different strain from a seed bank make batches of seeds of that and add it to the list and you take the 2 strains that you have and make a F1 batch. You can sell your F1 batch of seeds to people because there are people out there that but F1 seeds because they get alot of different genetics int he seeds to chose from that you get from the mom and dad.
If you want to have a good selection of seeds find pure strains because people love having pure strains for breeding reasons.
Now if you want to start a seed bank with a small selection buy 5 to 7 different regular seed strains because feminized is nice but makes breeding a pain and alot more work but also you get less seeds to work with and they cost more. Make a seed stock of those and put them onto your site for selection but remember to keep the parents alive.
Now here comes the fun part.
Of those 5 to 7 different strains you can make feminized seed versions of those so now you still have the same strains but you make your seed selection wider for people who want feminized. Now to make your own strains you need to go hydro for this because soil is way to slow growing also i would recommend going with a prebuilt aero cloner if you can't find all the parts or if you can buy the parts and build one your self because this will help with making rooting time less for cuttings that you take. Depending how good the breeder they can produce 1 F3 strain in 1 year if you stabilize it so that meens you can make 1 stable strain per year if your lucky and if you are using 2 strains to make 1 strain, Now if you have 5 to 7 strains and your are making 50/50 strains and only making them F3s you can make around 15 to 28 stable strains but doing this you must have a bunch of different setups around the house so you don't get contaminated crosses.
Now like I said you can make 15 to 28 F3 strains that are 50/50 but that's doing a slap together way. A Good seedbank spends 1 year + with a single strain and writes things down, grows it under different lights, out side and such just to see what one is good for breeding. But remember too though that people will buy F1s, F2s and such if they are a good price. Look into what different kinds of crosses there are because there is more then just F crosses.
Final word of wisdom. Don't get greedy with selling small amount of seeds for alot of money because people aren't always gonna be willing to spend alot and the price for Feminized seeds shouldn't be a whole lot more then regular seeds because people like me who see a price of say $50 for 15 pack of regular Haze seeds and a 10 or 15 pack of Feminized Haze seeds for around $70 to $100 I would rather buy 1 pack of regular seeds for less money then a 10 or 15 pack of feminized seeds would cost because I'd rather save money and make my own batch of feminized seeds.
Another good seed bank / breeder thing to do is to list what strains make up your custom strain that you made because people do wanna know and if some are like me I'd buy the base seeds to make a strain like that and that meens you make more money because I am willing to do my own work to make the strain.
