YAH i remember hearing that in world cultures class in highschool like 5 years ago.

pretty much every religion is just a rip off of another religion though... thats how ive come to my conlusion that organized religion is just fucked up in general and there all hypocritical

however this is a thread on whether o not jesus smoked

and my conclusion is that not only did he smoke, but he cultivated and dispersed as well

Well hippie looking jesus is just an image created b the church and maybe not historically accurate? So that probably has little to do with it. And if he smoked and thought it was important to smoke there would probably be stronger references to it in the bible.

awesome dude. i made this very point a few hours ago on another thread and pointed out that surely it is the religious right who are the sinners for condemning people who use a plant that their god stated was for our use.
also made the point that they themselves completely ignore parts of their own written doctrine and by doing so, effectively say to their god "you are wrong so we will just ignore that bit".
top link and+rep for it bro!!!!!!!!!

just thought id point this out in your links "3rd reference" to cannabis it says

YOU HAVE NOT BROUGHT ANY KANEH FOR ME, OR LAVISHED ON ME THE FAT OF YOUR SACRIFICES. BUT YOU HAVE BURDENED ME WITH YOUR SINS AND WEARIED ME WITH YOUR OFFENCES.
ISAIAH 43:23-24

but in my king james edition bible that passage is

"23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering nor wearied thee with incense
24 thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities"

is that because your link is using the original thing or did it get changed that much for the king james edition?

just wondering

Not sure what to tell you my friend except perhaps King James called Kaneh Bosm "Sweet Cane". The oldest bible in history that is still around (The Codex Sinaiticus) will be made available online in the next few weeks... I suppose we shall then see :peace:

Website for the Bible (testaments being added still)

yeh the term "sweet cane" seems very prevlnt in the edition i have dug out.also "kanalum"....can't help but think these phrases have "appeared" in the last few hundred years to "throw" the congregation off the scent (pardon the pun).

I agree, just imagine if all the Southern Baptists learned that Jesus used cannabis... what an uproar that would cause.
