Washington H.B. 1550 - New Bill to Legalize MMJ and sell it through state liquor

Well as usual, goverment regulation, $5000 and 15%, come on. I can see having a tax and possibly an amount that doesn't cut out the poor people. But at the same time, you have to start somewhere. I am in a state that you can't even mention the possibility of a state referendum on MJ, assbackwards at times. But it still will be illegal by federal standards, so what has changed. Would I support it, yes because it is a start, but I don't think it is a great starting point, lessen the governments role in it. Good Luck hopefully it will roll to the plains states soon, untill then I just will have to keep growing.


Why only liquor establishments? I have no idea why that was put in there. Don't tie MJ togethor with alcohol.

Explain please, just because I am not from WA doesn't mean I don't want to be informed. As usual things that happen in one spot usually move to others, so I would like to be as informed as possible. Thanks in advance if you take time to explain........

Hard liquor sales in WA are allowed only in state operated liquor stores. This gives the state complete control over not only sell, but taxation of the product.

What he said up above..and it's stupid and just another waste of money bureaucrats want. I voted against it but it was lost by a long shot because of all the piece of shit liberals in this state.

ISn't this bill called 1149? and not 1550? this friday I will be at East Wenatchee Costco gathering signatures for 1149.

Tomoyo, HB1550 is a representative proposed bill. I-1149 is a citizen initiative. Both can ultimately become law, but only initiatives are voted on by the citizens of the state.
