Washington heat

holy smokes people its hot up here, how worried should i be about the high temps here in washington, i flipped the switch to 12/12 a few days ago, will these temps stress the plants and make them hermie, the plants are in top notch health, no nute problems, all three strains are indica dominant , i high 80's-90's with fans i have no a/c so thats not a option, any ideas

feeling the pain too, I am in Mt Vernon and it is hotter than hades. I had to water the goats and the horse about 5 times already. looking forward to the sun going down. I have been sucking on a beer that tastes so good, I am not a guy but these beers taste awesome just bud light that my old man did not drink last week so I am polishing them off for him.

im in washington and it seems your fans arent doing much to cool it down because outside its in the 90s. yes, the heat can harm the plants and cause heat stress if the temps rise above 95 and stay there for too long. the ideal temp is somewhere between 70-80. the suggestion i found was to turn off some lights if they are creating heat or to also reduce the reflectiveness (such as foil) which also causes the heat to rise a bit. otherwise, just more fans. a swamp fan is an excellent choice for cooling the temp down fast and keeping it there. they can cool it down by about 10-20 degrees depending on the size and the size of the space your cooling.

i live in washington as well. i dont think we can complain too much cause 90s is really average or in some cases below average everywhere else.as Queenz said, a swamp cooler is the best bet. you can get them new for like 100 bucks or you can make them. there might be a faq on it. my room is in the 90's off and on. i have never had a hermie. it isnt good for the plants to be that hot, but it aint the end of the world. if it was then all the outdoor plants would die.

oh, and you can tell if your plants are getting heat stress from the tips of your leaves. if the tips start to get a bit brown, this is a sign, similar to a plant recieving too much nutrients, yet only the tips of the leaves get brown, while much more of the leaf gets brown with too much nutrients.

actually made the grow chamber smaller relocated it to the lower level of the home and added a "24 air-king fan, this mofo moves more air then a Freightliner, chamber temps are down to a respectful 82*f during the day and a relaxing 67*f at night, still going to make a swamp cooler im working on a cad design to post for RIU.ORG to sticky if it meets approval
