Water cloning help?

Hey guys, I did my first attempt at cloning in water, and think I have a problem. I had the stems pretty far in the water so I have roots growing pretty high up the stem. Is it possible to cut part of the lower stem off so I don't have to plant the clone so deep in the soil. I have a picture of the stem also that I will post. If I can't cut it, will I run into issues when planting it into an 8 inch pot with the stem being so long. Thanks

There isn't much happening below that couple inches of root right? Should be ok. Buuuut i don't see the trouble in planting deep.... so

sure..!

I make my clones about as long as your knife and then trim the excess leaves off so it looks like a little tree

scrape the bark some so they grow thru

good luck

Yea and no. It'd be a great deal of help to keep the soil constantly moist for the next week. Otherwise keep it going in aeration until the roots are an inch or two. But yea it's fine. I usually clone in soil from the time of cutting. Ill just put a ziplock bag over the top. Btw i don't recommend it over aeration as it has a higher failure ratio.

I wait till my roots are about 3 inches long. But thats just the way i do it. Im sure it will still be fine if you plant it now and take care of it.

Thank you. I have had bad luck cloning in soil this year, so I switched to water, and so far it's 100% success

Very nice. Mine is just a five gallon bucket with foam board floating on top. Poked some holes and dropped the cutting in. Can you pull those cuttings out easily without damaging the roots? Looks like it would be scary trying to pull them out through that tiny hole. Sorry I'm a newbie!
That was the concern and indeed I did loose one,

and some I sliced the irrigation hose(puck to hold plant vertical)

top most to gain access to the plant to extract, the deal is to exclude light ..

I now prefer to use kitchen foil,

good luck
