Water cooling ?'s

So I am a poor broke bastard that is wanting to attempt to water cool my set up lights, res. So I can not afford a chiller from Hydro Innovations but I was thinking if I could run the ice boxes and a res coil's and run it off a out side above ground pool as my external res. If you have or know anyone that has done this please leave some feed back. I would like to know if it could be done and pro's and cons ? And if someone has done it before how they did it and if they would do it again and or anything different. Thanks a lot guys
