Water Curing question(s)...

hey everyone..

hope you all are having a pleasant night as I am. ;)

question right quick for everyone.. well, to those who have experience with using the 'water cure' method.

I noticed that the buds float.. but I realize that they eventually will sink once the entire volume of the bud has been saturated with water/moisture. But, how do you go about keeping them submerged at the beginning of the curing process?

just doing a little test with some nugs off my 'mids' plant.. so this will be my first time trying the water method. Figured since I don't deal/sell cannabis.. I don't really need to worry about 'bag appeal' all that much.. and just really want to test this method out for myself.

Thanks for any help

Fill up the jar, then cover it with saran wrap. Any nugs that float will be submerged by default. :) Have fun, it'll look like shit but smoke good =)

i never cover the jar myself...to allow evaporation i guess...it also alerts me when to change the water as i end up smelling it
i doubt i need to do that...but that's how i do it

i use a series of tweezer clips to weigh the devils down...big buoyant ones get a nice piece of non-leeching quartz attached to the clip

i did the old water cure a few years ago. like what was already said just cover them they'll get waterlogged. i put something on them to weigh them down the first day or so. what a horrible taste! blech. i only smoked a bit of it and gave the rest away. bleh. i didn't even figure out if indeed it was "more concentrated".

i do every stupid experiment that comes along! i did most of them back in the 90s though. lol

How long did you water cure for and how often did you change the water? I find my water cured stuff has more flavor than my jar/burp cure herb
