Water from a hose

Been putting well water in a trough to warm up for a day before using it. PH right from the hose is in the 6.5 range. Is it really necessary to warm the water. Rain is cold

As long as the soil stays around 19 to 27 degrees celsius it should be fine
 
Guess I keep using a trough and sump pump. Might check the water this spring for temp. It would be nice just to turn on the faucet and water
 
what if you use any sort of heater maybe for the water ? like the ones use in aquariums. depends on how many you have ofc. Just an idea.
 
ufffed . Yeah i knew it was something more in the double digit numbers :D . I know its a bit ghetto and all but did you think of modding a big electric boiler?
 
I also make maple syrup and have toyed with heating water with the evaporator but it's such a hassle to start up and clean.
 
i mean if you look at it this way you dont even need to modifie the boiler connect the hose to the boiler , and the boiler does the job itself. But i dont know how the water reacts if you heat it up or etc. and if or there will be problem with the plants . I got another idea more manual intesive but worth a try.
Where you live right now is it cold ?
if yes. You probably have a radiator heating ur rooms .
Get a few smaller or some big buckets the plastic normal ones.
Fill them up and let them warm up near the radiator. Mix the water here and there .
Yeah its a hassel but its not expensive and before you get a solution its still better than nothing.

I use well water its 22ppm 5.5-6.0. You need to check the ppm if u haven't. Yes I think so. If the plants are indoors anyway

ffs i was looking for this but couldnt fucking get the word solar into my head XD cause i live in an apartment. Yeah 85 to 90% of people have such systems installed here where i live . ofcourse on their houses. I think this one is a no misser tho. Wish i could give you a nug or 2 right now.

Water straight from the well is indeed to cold, my solution to the same problem was to pump the water to an elevated water holding tank, I choose rain barrels. I have my barrels on a 4 foot tall platform, with a simple 3/4" ball valve on the bottom of it. Having your tank/barrell a few feet off the ground gives plenty of pressure, water comes out just like a garden hose once yo open the valve but doesnt require any pumps or power, just gravity.

Any questions on that let me know, works great
 
I tried that with a 65 gal poly barrel but at 3 feet. Water was slow and the farther away the slower it got. Friction you know. I have seen some 12 v battery pumps. I have no idea how much pressure to get. Also thought about a water trough with a sump pump.
 
I used a junk Intek vinyl solar heater for a disposable pool back in the day. Just a green use for another problem product.
