water getting hot?

Im planing on starting my first hydrophonic grow
I made this

it has 2 pumps, 1 air pump for the air stone and a water pump the goes into that blue pipe
as I tried my setup I noticed that the water gets hot because of the water pump

is that good for the roots?
should i run the pump 24/7 or give it breaks so the water will cool down?

For a setup like that I would pump your water from a second reservoir and have it drain out... pump cause heat & raise your water temps which is a huge issues in DWC. Temps should be kept below 70 F


You do not need a water pump. The aeration provided by the air stone & air pump should be adequate for the roots, may want to look into insulated coolers to maintain proper temps and remove the water pump creating the heat.

We also use frozen water bottles to lower rez temps something to keep in mind

I'd lose the water pump all together and feed the plants with plenty of bubble action.
